It Was a Bad Day for Obama's Foreign Policy Rep

Supposedly Obama enjoys an advantage in the polls when it comes to foreign policy. It is hard to imagine why the public would think he was even remotely competent in that area but even willful ignorance of this administration's blundering will be hard to maintain after yesterday's demonstration of political incompetence and a breathtaking exhibition of political correctness.
The White House has announced that Obama will not meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a time when Israel must decide whether maintaining cordial relations with the United States is worth jeopardizing it very existence. After the dust up at the Democratic convention over whether or not to adhere to existing policy or to jettison the insistence that Jerusalem be regarded as the capitol of Israel, Netanyahu might be forgiven for thinking Obama is attempting to isolate Israel. One wonders how this will go down with undecided Jewish voters in Florida and Virginia.
Normally the White House comments on major foreign policy events but two embassies where attacked and the White House stood mute which was better than the State Department that issued a politically correct half apology for a video that some Coptic Christian had posted on his FaceBook page.
The embassy stated that it “condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”
“Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy,” the statement read. “We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.”
What crap!
One embassy staffer was killed when a mob overran the embassy in Libya. Obama might be forgiven if in hindsight he questions whether or not it was worth waging an unconstitutional war to incur this insult. He waged war not only without the consent of congress but in defiance or it. Let's see what the next poll says about Obama's foreign policy acumen.
