The new god: Godvernment

   So I must reveal that I am a "baby boomer" and remember some things that strike me rather odd right now. As we listen to the Liberal talk about the need to defeat the evil Republicans and the desire to let the government in every part of our lives, I was just wondering, has everyone forgotten what was formerly said to another entity that was trying to "HELP" people.

   This other group of people(back in the 50s and 60s) would tell people:
 IT IS Wrong to smoke
YOU should  Help the needy
Don't do drugs or drink to excess
Value your marriage and not just "live together"
If you are married, work at it, don't give up so easy
Don't eat to much and destroy your body
Be wise with your money and yet give 10% to help the helpless
They didn't even need to talk about protecting the unborn... that was still the right thing to do.

Who were these people and what party were they? They were those who were part of the "Faith"...the Christians, Jews and other religious groups. And what was the common response? "Quit trying to legislate your beliefs on others." "Keeps your views to yourself."

So why is it that so many people want the government to tell US what we should or shouldn't do? What happened to the "get lost, I'll (        ) what I want"

Nope, we have a government now that knows better than we do and we will submit to our new "god", the Godvernment. You know, we were Hippies and Yuppies and Beatniks, but we agreed on some things...We can think for ourselves. Amazing, if Christians were to say some of the things the Godvernment says now, we'd be shot. Come on now folks, think about the power we still have. If you want to steal the Liberal agenda and stick a fork in it just utter these words.....
"As a Christian I believe gays should marry"... "You should only have a 12 ounce of soda"... "let illegal immigrants live here and not pay taxes too"... "everyone pays 10% more of their income to the  Godvernment( only if they work ) .... CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW FAST GAY MARRIAGE WOULD BE SHUNNED BY EVERYONE???

Just say God loves everyone.Or Jesus would prefer we have open borders.. It will be like Holy Water on demons( or demoncrats ).

Well I sure remember when we said what we believed and cared about issues.  I think it is time to quit letting others hijack our values. I think we did a better job of saying it with love and the 2000 page document we used wasn't the Health Care Bill.

Well there you have it... going to smoke my pipe now.
