Perrysburg faces new levies

In a move some are calling "too much" "outrageous and "absurd," Perrysburg Schools are asking for a replacement levy combined with a new incremental levy, totaling 17 mills over the next 4 years, beginning with 13.15 to replace the 9.95 mill expiring levy.
Judging from the rather sparse comments section in the Sentinel Tribune, residents are not pleased.
For the record, Perrysburg teachers contribute 10% to their pensions, as per state law, matched with 14% from the BOE. That STRS deduction will be increasing from the teachers to 14% over the next several years.
Perrysburg Township has a 4% continuing levy for fire/EMS renewal up and the city is asking for 1.45 mills to fund a new transportation levy.
More from the school district here.
