Obama Raises $1 Million, Stiffs City for Security Cost
The Obama campaign has stiffed the city of Newport Beach, California for $35,000. The campaign was billed for the extra security the city provided Obama when he did a fundraiser in the oceanfront community. If the trip had been for official business no bill would have been sent but Newport Beach is not inclined to eat the cost when the President raised over a million dollars. The Democratic National Committee told City Manager Dave Kiff to talk to the Secret Service. The Secret Service responded it wasn't there responsibility to contact the campaign and so it goes. Team Obama is obviously pinched for cash. The bill is already 60 days past due. If it goes 120 days past it will be turned over to a collection agency. When Mitt Romney campaigned in the same city his bill was paid within 30 days. When will cities demand Obama pay up front before they provide security?
He did this same thing in New England. What gives? Arrogance regarding local budgets? Broke? Neglect?
ReplyDeleteAny way, this indicates someone really shouldn't be trying to run a country.
