Prejudice: are women smarter than men?

  So the latest "news" is that women are smarter than men. ABC:

Flynn has not yet published the results of his study, saving that for a book he will publish in September. But he told ABC News that he collected data from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Estonia and Argentina on scores on a standard IQ test, called the Raven test. Each country tested at least 500 men and 500 women, most between the ages of 15 and 18, Flynn said.

“In all of those samples, women are the equal of men, perhaps scoring a half point or a point higher,” Flynn said.

  I, for one, am absolutely, positively sick of "reporting" like this. 
  You hear this line constantly. "Well, if WOMEN were in charge, there'd be no wars!" or "Well, if WOMEN were in charge people would get along!"
  The world would be "more peaceful" if women were in charge!
  In fact, the whole world, if women were in charge, would be "less hierarchical" and "less gender segregated"!
  I'm sorry?
  Have these people never spent time with women? Women can be snipey, bitchy and just as "hierarchical" as the good old boys' club.
  Now we have a study that has concluded that women are simply smarter than men.
  Has anybody noticed that more females than males go to college? And who knows what this study was based on, as far as judging "IQ" and "intelligence. Here's the truth about the number of females vs males in college. Forbes:

On a national scale, public universities had the most even division between male and female students, with a male-female ratio of 43.6–56.4. While that difference is substantial, it still is smaller than private not-for-profit institutions (42.5-57.5) or all private schools (40.7-59.3). The nearly 40-60 ratio of private schools was most surprising, though perhaps this is partly due to the fact that most all-female schools are private. Nevertheless, the female domination of higher education prevails across all types of schools. It should also be noted that the national male-female ratio for 18-24 year olds is actually 51-49, meaning there are more (traditionally) college-aged males than females.

  Who knows what that college degree is really worth now, considering the crap colleges are spewing out? Who knows how "enlightened" this study is, regarding liberal philosophies which are considered "intelligent"?
  Remember the "scientists" who declared that liberals are "smarter" than conservatives.
  "Liberals THINK they're smarter than conservatives because they are."
  Aren't people just people? 
  Some of the smartest people I've ever known had no college degrees but an insatiable desire to know more about the world around them, reading constantly and curious about everything.
  Yet those people would probably be considered less than smart because they were conservative.
  Gimme a break.
  Enough with the prejudice.
