Reverend Wright's Chickens May be Coming Home to Roost

This could get ugly. At least I hope it does. I was channel surfing and Lawrence O'Donnell, the MSNBC commentator was fulminating about a new attack that was being planned by a Republican leaning super PAC, the Ending Spending Action Fund that would “do exactly what John McCain would not let us do,” That is, it would coincide with the Democratic convention and link Barack Obama inextricably to Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Plans are not finalized yet but a $10 million ad buy is envisioned. The advertising campaign would include television ads, outdoor advertisements and huge aerial banners flying over the Democratic convention site for four hours one afternoon. It also calls for full-page newspaper advertisements featuring a comment Mr. Wright made the Sunday after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. “America’s chickens are coming home to roost,” The plan is being put together and financed by a fellow Chicagoan, Joe Ricketts, founder of of the brokerage firm TD Ameritrade and owner of the Chicago Cubs.
