Admittedly an opponent's web site might have a jaundiced view of the facts but Scott D’Amboise web site is claiming that Senator Olympia Snowe's internal polling showed her to be losing to her Tea Party challenger prior to her retirement announcement. Coming as suddenly as Snowe's announcement did, with less than a month before the primary, one might conclude it was intended to head off an embarrassing loss. In any event, Tea Party backed Scott D’Amboise is the only candidate left in the Republican Senate primary.
