67 Percent Want Court To Strike Individual Mandate

It will be good for Obama and Obamacare if the Supreme Court sticks to the law and isn't swayed by public opinion. An ABC News/Washington Post poll finds an astounding 67 percent of Americans want the individual mandate struck down. Of course the courts listens to public opinion and that is one of those little hypocrisies of political life. Probably the courts usually reach their opinions based on law but then wonder about how it will be received by the public. The polling data for Obamacare has been in negative territory since it was passed. This particular poll finds that Americans oppose the law overall by 52-41 percent.

The poll also measures voter intensity. Forty-one percent strongly oppose the law, while only a quarter strongly support it.
