Does Mitt Romney even know what party he's in? He started off the day by telling CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien that he wasn't concerned about the poor because they had a safety but if it had holes in it he would fix it. Just what I wanted to hear! Another fix to the Great Society bag of goodies and we are supposed to cheer? Whatever happened to the idea of moving people out of poverty even if it means driving them out? Whatever happened to the idea of personal responsibility? Is that just a theme that gets trotted out at Republican debates and put back in the stable when pandering to the popular media?
Then after the liberal press scolded him for pandering to the middle class while not pandering to the poor Romney decided that the minimum wage should be indexed to inflation. From the Huffington Post;
Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney renewed his support Wednesday for automatic increases in the federal minimum wage to keep pace with inflation, a position sharply at odds with traditional GOP business allies, conservatives and the party's senior lawmakers."I haven't changed my thoughts on that," the former Massachusetts governor told reporters aboard his chartered campaign plane, referring to a stand he has held for a decade.
Obama proposed the same while campaigning in 2008 and like Obama, Romney will say anything to get elected. There is no way this man will get my vote!
