Occupiers' trash reveals character

On a lazy comfortable Sunday afternoon, reading about how Occupiers trashed a man's home after promising him they'd help him out and fix it up is almost too much to believe. For those of us who've worked hard all our lives, who clean the house and fix up the dents and bangs, it is inconceivable that someone would intentionally seriously damage another's home by tearing up plumbing, ripping down walls and throwing trash on the floors and walls.
Yet this is exactly what the New York Post reported yesterday, complete with pictures, about a homeowner whose home had been foreclosed on, but who was working with the bank to make up the payments and reclaim his home.
NY Post describes what is left after the Occupiers moved out:
Inside is a war zone. The walls are torn down, the plumbing is ripped out and the carpeting has been plucked from the floor. It’s like walking through a ribcage. Garbage, open food containers and Ahadzi’s possessions are tossed haphazardly around the house.
“This is where my kitchen was,” Ahadzi says. There is no sink, no refrigerator and no counter space. Instead there are dirty dishes piled high waiting for a dip in three large buckets of putrid water that serve as the dishwashing system. In a first-floor bathroom, Christmas lights dangle from a shower curtain rod. The only thing separating a toilet from the elements outside is a thin veil of paper.
The Post details how these Occupier squatters took over Ahadzi's home and severely damaged it, causing thousands of dollars of damage without offering to pay from their ample coffers for the destruction they caused.
I wasn't going to post this; after all, stories of Occupier damages, arrests, assaults and illegalities are everywhere.
But this morning, Monday morning, around the web bloggers are pointing out that this Brooklyn home has become a symbol of the Occupier mentality: seek and destroy. Do not build, but rather whine, criticize and ruin everything around you.
We hope that someone helps out Ahadzi who's trying to raise 2 daughters alone; that it won't be OWS is a shame.
And a truth is revealed about people who purport to care about the "99%," of which Mr. Ahadzi is surely one. That truth is an ugly one.
And don't try to make the case that the Occupier movement is not responsible because it's been overrun by the homeless.
We all know what happens when you lie down with dogs.
