Conservative Senators Warn Reid Not To Push Protect IP As Is

It looks as if Senator Orrin Hatch has found internet freedom more important than the music industry at least until Utah Republicans have selected their candidate at the state convention. Remember Senator Mike Lee rolled then Senator Bob Bennett two years ago at that state convention. Hatch has been a faithful toady for the music industry and once thought it was a good idea to allow music industry hackers to remove copyrighted material from individuals' computers. He did, however, join four other senators in drafting a letter to Harry Reid warning of opposition to Protect IP, the senate companion bill to SOPA. One would think both Senators and Congressmen would have the good sense not to try a stunt like this in an election year.
