The Obama's Struggled to Keep Up With The Bourbons

Last week in Kansas Obama compared himself to President Teddy Roosevelt. Maybe a more historically accurate comparison would be to French King Louis XVI, the Sun King. Louis and his Austrian bride, "let them eat cake" Marie Antoinette, managed to outrage the citizenry of France with their ostentatious life style and royal in your face perquisites until they brought the monarchy down.

The first couple have always been long on the noblesse and short on the oblige but his year the dears seem to have outdone themselves. When many Americans are struggling to hang onto their devalued homes and children are asking Santa for clothing instead of video games the Obama's have embraced conspicuous consumption to the hilt in the form of 37 Christmas trees. Yes, 37 Christmas trees and a four hundred pound gingerbread house. Remember this is the man who is with the 99 percent and disdains private sector wealth. After Christmas Le Roi will take the family not on a disdainful corporate, jet but a regal presidential jet, to bask in the Hawaiian sun for 17 days. This is what democracy looks like!
