No Presidential Medal Of Freedom for Joe Paterno

Just two months ago, Pennsylvania’s two senators wrote to the White House and nominated Joe Paterno for the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. Today both Senators, Democrat Bob Casey and Republican Pat Toomey withdrew the request in the wake of the arrest of former defensive coach Jerry Sandusky and the firing of coach Joe Paterno.
