The DC Caller has video of the riot in DC on Friday when an elderly woman was attacked. Toward the end of the video, the rioters, who surrounded cars and would not let drivers pass, claim to have been run over by a driver and become infuriated when the police do not arrest the driver. Note toward the middle of the video that they hold captive the driver of a car who says he "just wants to go home" with his child in the car.
What is apparent at this juncture is that the anarchist training that many of these people have participated in is part of the modus operandi of the tactics of the group.
Many of these demonstrators have undergone actual training to learn how to resist arrest and have also been taught to scream, "Victim! I'm being hurt!" at the slightest provocation. We saw this with the man who threw himself in front of a police motorcyclist and then claimed to have been run down and we are seeing it with these mobs of people trying to overwhelm the system with complaints.
This is why the demonstrators are demanding trials instead of paying fines. It's much more expensive for the city to run a trial; this is also part of Cloward Piven, who claimed the way to win is to simply overwhelm the system. Withdraw your money from the bank and put it in a credit union. Demand a trial instead of paying a fine. Demand loans be forgiven rather than paying your debts. And squatting is coming next.
From an anarchist website, which I will not link, we learn what will come next:
Finally, Occupy has indicated its intent to spark a permanent, nationwide squatter movement by the homeless. On the evening on the November 2 General Strike some members of Occupy Oakland moved into a vacant office building bordering Oscar Grant Plaza. They intend to use it as a space for workshops and classes, a library, and a dormitory for those with health conditions. The larger goal is to set an example for Occupy movements in other cities. Better yet, it will set an example for millions of homeless who sleep in the cold, as bank-owned residential and commercial real estate sits vacant.
This is a winning proposition. The homeless really have nothing to lose. They’ll be sheltered for as long as they’re able to retain occupancy, and if they’re eventually evicted they’re no worse off than before. Meanwhile, the longer they remain in possession the greater the demonstration effect on others to take courage and do likewise; and the more likely other forms of resistance, like defaulting mortgage-payers retaining occupancy and challenging the legality of the bank’s paper, are to emerge. There are anarchists summer camps to attend, where you'll learn this:
Anarchy Summer Camp (ASC) is tailored to fit every anarchists' needs: fromthe veteran to the newbie, all are welcome. ASC is not an accredited SummerCamp. We do, however, have the following skills and knowledge to share withall campers: building and using shields and reinforced banners, navigatingthrough the woods, sharpening your knives, permaculture, terrain analysis, health and safety in the streets, and more!Conservative Treehouse has excerpts from an FBI manual:
(Excerpt from FBI bulletin) A fair number of protesters have been “schooled in civil unrest.” They actually have attended classes to learn tactics for just such an occasion. Among law enforcement it is known these schools exist. Officers report: the demonstrators will not bathe for weeks which creates a horrible smell you can not imagine unless you have worked such an event; some will put dog or human feces in their pockets to make police searches as obnoxious as possible; they will partake liberally of codeine, or other pain killers ahead of time in order to blunt the pain, or better resist any police attempt at physical control or handcuffing.
They are schooled how to scream, kick, writhe and resist wildly at any touch by a police officer; this action plays well in front of cameras and gains sympathy. They are taught to spit, curse vile words and personal verbal attacks, use rocks, and other “less-than lethal” means.
