My long held opinion of brokers is if you seen one you've them all but Ann Barnhardt is a different breed of cat. The hedge broker specializing in cattle and grain, is quitting the brokerage portion of her business, and has posted an announcement as to why which you can read here. Here is an excerpt;

Knowing Jon Corzine, and knowing the abject lawlessness and contempt for humanity of the Marxist Obama regime and its cronies, this is not really a surprise. What was a surprise was the reaction of the exchanges and regulators. Their reaction has been to take a bad situation and make it orders of magnitude worse. Specifically, they froze customers out of their accounts WHILE THE MARKETS CONTINUED TO TRADE, refusing to even allow them to liquidate. This is unfathomable. The risk exposure precedent that has been set is completely intolerable and has destroyed the entire industry paradigm. No informed person can continue to engage these markets, and no moral person can continue to broker or facilitate customer engagement in what is now a massive game of Russian Roulette.
Everything Barnhardt says here is true. When MF Global customers tried to close their accounts, MF Global refused to do wire transfers as is the custom and sent out checks via snail mail. When customers tried to cash those checks they bounced; leaving them no recourse but to join the line of creditors in bankruptcy court. I agree with everything Barnhardt says in this instance and this is not her first public controversy. She received a death threat from a visitor to her web site and her response was gutsy to the extreme.
