Solyndra or Solyndra-gate

Even if the Solyndra bankruptcy does not evolve into a full blown Solyndra-gate the damage to Obama and his proposed jobs programs is horrendous. It's almost a made-to-order scandal. It gives Republicans every chance to exploit the "green jobs" myth by demonstrating that most of the green economy cannot exist without huge government subsidies. George Kaiser, an Obama donor is reported to have visited the White House some 20 times and Obama made Solyndra almost the centerpiece of his green initiative, visiting its Fremont, CA as late as May 2010. Dept of Energy official were allowed to sit in on board meetings and any contention by DOE and Obama that they didn't know of the pending bankruptcy is false. If the recent FBI raid produces subpoenas to DOE officials and grand jury investigations Democrats would likely defect from Obama in scores. This could get interesting.
