Krugman has the disadvantage of being a mean-spirited, small-minded, petty creepy little freak so perhaps he's not really responsible for what he writes. After all, as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.
In his blog which is entitled "The Conscience of a Liberal," Krugman says this:
....
What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. The atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
A lot of other people behaved badly. How many of our professional pundits — people who should have understood very well what was happening — took the easy way out, turning a blind eye to the corruption and lending their support to the hijacking of the atrocity?
The memory of 9/11 has been irrevocably poisoned; it has become an occasion for shame. And in its heart, the nation knows it.
I’m not going to allow comments on this post, for obvious reasons.
Now, how George W. Bush raced to "cash in on the horror" is beyond me. For sitting quietly in front of children after being informed that we were at war, he was mocked and ridiculed by thousands by the opportunist Michael Moore who raced to cash in on the horror.
Rudy Giuliani was almost killed during the attacks. When did he cash in?
Republicans and in particular Bush were admonished to not use images from 9/11 during the reelection campaign. Was that cashing in?
MSM decided that images and video from the event was too distressing for the public to handle so those images have been banned, probably because it became apparent that those images inspired fealty to the United States of America, its military and the country's ability to defend itself.
So the "memory of 9/11" is poisoned? Is he serious? What's good about remembering that hideous atrocity by rich hate-filled murderers whose only goal in life was to destroy human life?
It becomes more apparent that the Left in this country is cracking up.
Obama is threatening to pass his agenda using executive orders against the will of the people.
He seems unable to realize that people don't want his agenda.
And let's face it. There was something deeply disturbing about his goofy speech the other night in which he repeatedly yelled "Pass this bill!" to a bored Congress who hadn't seen or received the bill yet.
Pass this bill. Pass this bill.
It truly was a remarkable and disturbing exhibition of a disconnect between reality and fantasy.
Add to that the crazy displays of violence by the unions, the assault on Tea Partiers, the encouragement of bizarre behavior and you have a Left wing that is cracking up.
