Thompson Has Had His Last Hurrah

One would think a four term governor would have no trouble winning his party's nomination for senator. Even if that governor spent four months competing for his party's nomination for president it is still not enough if he caught the kiss of death. That kiss of death is Obamacare and former governor of Wisconsin Tommy Thompson has been snake bit. His kind words for Obamacare have all but ended his political career. Although Thompson enjoys an 86% name recognition and an unfavorable rating of only 18% his support is very soft when he is matched with former Congressman Mark Neumann. (Neumann has not announced but his name is frequently mentioned.) Thompson can only poll 40% to Neumann's 34%. If that's not bad enough Neumann lost his last primary election to an unknown Milwaukee county executive, Scott Walker. The Club for Growth opposes Thompson but has yet to endorse a candidate. Maybe there's another Ron Johnson out there.
