Obama Polls Just 35% In Pennsylvania

Barack Obama carried Pennsylvania by a little more than 10 percentage points in 2008. Three weeks ago he had a 43 percent approval rating in the Quinnipiac University poll. The latest poll to come out of Pennsylvania, the Muhlenberg College poll puts his approval rating at just 35 percent. Without Pennsylvania in his column it will be very hard for Obama to compete in the 2012 election. If there a silver lining in the poll for Obama, it's that 31 percent of Pennsylvanians say their vote in November 2012 will depend on who the Republican candidate is but that is small consolation. He can't depend on the Republicans to run John Huntsman or Ron Paul. By all means the President must make sure that the EPA shuts down all the coal fired power plants it can by election day then he and Senator Bob Casey can spend the rest of their lives at Martha's Vineyard.
