Jobs Saved By Obama Appointed Judge. Ouch!

Drill, Baby, Drill. No, those words didn't come from Sarah Palin. This time the sentiment, if not the words, came from an Obama appointed federal judge. While the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals grabbed the headlines when it struck down the individual mandate of Obamacare, U.S. District Judge Nancy Freudenthal, an Obama appointee, ruled in favor of group of oil drilling concerns, the Northern Energy Alliance. In Cheyenne, Wyoming, Judge Freudenthal found that new drilling rules developed by the Interior Department did indeed delay drilling and increase drilling costs. The decision only pertains to drilling on federal lands. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 introduced something called "categorical exclusions" whereby environmental impact statements are not required. For instance when very little land would be disturbed, or when an impact statement had recently been done. Really not a great week in court for the team Obama!
