Obama is using California as a model for the rest of us

By now, most wags have read the frosty and overly optimistic comments the Obama spokesman iterated about the unemployment rate. Here they are from Politico:
“The average American does not view the economy through the prism of GDP or unemployment rates or even monthly jobs numbers,” Plouffe said, according to Bloomberg. “People won’t vote based on the unemployment rate, they’re going to vote based on: ‘How do I feel about my own situation? Do I believe the president makes decisions based on me and my family?
This statement is wrong in so many ways; expect a "clarification" to come soon.
But the statement is also revealing about the way this administration views the American people:

  • It's condescending. You're stupid. The average American is an idiot who doesn't understand difficult things like numbers. Don't worry your pretty little head about those hard numbers, sonny. It's no big deal. Daddy's in charge and is going to take care of everything.
  • It's insulting. If you DO have a job, you shouldn't want more. The big guys are taking care of everything.
  • It's selfish. All that matters is what happens to YOU yourself. If you have a job, don't worry about anyone who doesn't because Daddy's going to let them off the hook for their mortgages; you shouldn't extend your sympathies to those losers anyway.
  • It's paternalistic. It encourages dependence, not liberty.
  • It creates in Obama demi-god status.
  • It's short sighted. Don't worry about what actually happens. Just be confident that The One's decisions are weighted by reading 10 letter a day from losers and making decisions based on that. Those decisions usually result in something free for a selected group of people.
  • It ignores fact and instead focuses on temporary emotional support.
  • It turns the President into the Therapist in Chief.
  • It does not deal with the reality of lost jobs, but has taken the sting out of unemployment while at the same time not creating fertile territory for new job creation.
  • It encourages class envy and warfare.
In short, California has become the model for the United States.
If he really felt for the American people, he wouldn't be passing laws and executive orders that encourage short term pacification rather than long term solutions.

He wouldn't  be making lightbulbs more expensive and he wouldn't be taking his wrecking ball to the coal industry and the auto industry.
He wouldn't be decimating every industry like the oil industry and then moving the industry to places like Brazil, where our government is funding jobs for Brazilians.
Instead he's encouraging like this idiot, who thanks God for Obama descending from the heavens to even talking to such as this McDonald's commoner.

Hey, the truth is that Rick Santelli is really onto what our attitudes really ARE. Watch it here and join in the shouting.
SEE YOU IN NOVEMBER, MR. OBAMA. BUH BYE SO LONG FAREWELL.
