Enough Already

When reading about incidents such as this I wonder at what point do we the people say, "Enough!" Then call our Congressmen and demand the removal by impeachment of the judge who would issue such a warrant. The Department of Education's Swat team (no I didn't know that had one) arrived at a private home at 6 AM, forced the father and three young children to wait in a police car for six hours. The offense? The mother, who had skipped out on the family had defaulted on her student loan. We have long since given up on anyone in the Dept of Education possessing even the rudiments of horse sense but they were executing a warrant signed by a federal judge. In the early days of the republic there was no such thing as judicial immunity and judge could be sued for issuing defective or unnecessary warrants. It didn't take the courts long to carve out the judicial immunity concept.

In this case and you can read more at Reason's blog , people should hound Congress until the judge is removed. This site has frequently posted incidents of Swat team excesses, where innocent people have been killed but those incidents were at least initiated by the suspicion of criminal behavior and they were executed by local law enforcement where sometimes training is suspect but here there was no criminal activity-just a default on a student loan-and they were executed by federal officials. Come on Americans, get mad!
