Morning roundup: April 11, 2011

The protests go on in Wisconsin, mirrored in the state of Washington. Heh. Sorta sad.
So the president put out a budget 2 months ago; oddly he's putting out another budget soon, having conceded that the American people aren't happy about the crazy spending he's been doing.
Juan Williams says the company line for liberals: Paul Ryan's cuts are on the "backs of the poor and elderly....the rich get off like scoundrels..."
IOW, all your money belong to us, the big DAWG, and youse fleas better hand it over.
It seems the tide is changing. Could the wishy washy Republicans actually stand up over time?
Actually an action hero has emerged in the face of Paul Ryan, the focused, no-drama, schoolteacher with the charts who has faced down the ultracool Mr. Obama, whose big ears cast long shadows on the dusty street.
Over at NRO, Chuckie Schumer, um, speaks, sort of:
So what if our compassion made more and more folks dependent on the government? So what if it robbed them of self-reliance? So what if it drove them onto the dole or into a public-employee union? (Same thing, when you stop to think about it.) That was the whole point! If it wasn’t the full monty of a Cloward-Piven strategy, it was certainly the next best thing, bleeding you heartless plutocrats dry while making you feel guilty about your abject lack of sympathy for those less fortunate than your own rotten selves. And if we had to wreck the country financially in order to save it from its own worst impulses and corrupt history, that’s a small price to pay for social and economic justice.
And, hey, I dunno if you heard about that whole gay caveman theory, but it's really, really *how do we say* stupid. CNN has some doubters writing on their website, but I'm sure there are many more who actually believe it, based on the flimsy, insubstantial conclusions drawn by the pointy headed "experts."
You'll be happy to know that civilization is saved in Boston, where the mayor has banned the sale of something we call pop and its ilk.
Once again, though, you can know that the country itself is in good hands, as the president, unworried about energy costs and their impact on the economy, wild weather, the Middle East crazies, the horrendous debt he's accumulated....hits the links!
Now that's sacrifice! Because he's not addicted! Seriously! He just wants to be anonymous again!
And from Fox News, it is noted that the most secular country in the world Japan, people are turning to prayer.
