Now it can be revealed that they have dropped their lawsuit to reinstate reimbursement for Viagra.
Boo hoo.
Apparently their egos have been somewhat, um, deflated, as they realized this lawsuit had diminishing returns, in light of the scandal that has unfolded over their excessively inflated benefits package.
Laughingstock?
If only that's all they were.
It has also come to light that the cockroaches are heading for the door as they see their excessive sick leave circling the drain. In fact, 140 teachers and 15 administrators have applied to join the emeritus program.
What is this, you may ask?
To the unschooled ear, this may sound like Easter Monday to the unions.
From the Fox affiliate in Green Bay:
The emeritus program gives one full year's salary paid over three years. That is in addition to pension benefits. In return, the retiree provides 10 days of service to the district each year during that time. The emeritus program is something that has been negotiated into the teachers' contract through collective bargaining.Good riddance. Don't let the door. Sayonara, baby.
Heroes do still exist in education, although the long knives are out, just like they were for Jaime Escalante. Teachers are territorial. Bad teachers don't like good teachers.
Heh. Even the feds can waste money on education. For a REALLY sickening look at waste, go here to Buffalo News.
Back at the ranch, Obama panics because he doesn't have enough names on his dance card to visit some lucky high school graduations. His ego demands more than one submission. What? No recent invites to Letterman or the World Series: The View? The Tonight Show? ESPN? Sesame Street? American Idol?
Oh. Only to high school graduations.
Well, look at it this way. He can always go to Madison, for the graduation of the few students left who actually finish high school. The same ones who can't read their diplomas.
If they actually have any teachers who'll finish teaching this year.
