The last taboo, we hope

Surfacing around the web are the stories of several prominent liberals who post at HuffPo who've been accused of incest with daughters. When you start to wonder how low we can go, this is it. A rundown of the situations is available at Big Journalism:

One can imagine the screeds emanating from the media half-wits that mutter at Media Matters for America (MMFA) had an Andrew Breitbart blogger been accused of incest; however, it appears that Arianna Huffington has not just one, but at least two prominent bloggers with serious allegations of incest on their resume. Most readers are probably familiar with the recent news of Huffington Post blogger David Epstein.
… it appears that Palin-hating Huffington Post blogger and Ivy League Professor, David Epstein stands accused of maintaining a 3-year incestuous relationship with his daughter.
Though Riehl at BJ looks at the situations from a "if a Republican did this" perspective, there's much more regarding the morality of it all over at Shrink Wrapped, particularly with regard to Epstein's (the Colombia professor who got caught) situation with his daughter.
Poignant is the book review over at Washington Post about the book written by Tony Hendra's daughter Jessica. It is difficult to understand how these people justify their behavior, but there it is.
Equally disturbing are some of the comments left by posters justifying Epstein's behavior on the HuffPo article about him. Weasel Zippers has a rundown. Latest check of comments reveals significant pushback, with many commenters horrified at such rationalizing.
You really can justify doing anything, if you want to. And if you're a liberal.
