But it turns out Obama has the rhetorical charisma only when the teleprompter's on.
What does he lack that Reagan had?
Well, to start he's not a very nice person.
We see this over and over, in the repeated slurs against his "enemies," in the smug attitude that "I won" and therefore rule, the complete disconnect when it comes to frolicking while the nation suffers even as he demands sacrifice from the unwashed masses, and in the lack of desire to want to work with the other side at all.
We've learned that he cannot take responsibility for his actions, including repeated references to the "hole" Bush dug, even though he voted on the budget (Congress sets the budget or doesn't, as in this year) since 2007 as democrat policies drove the country into the ground.
He is mean and petty and incredibly narcissistic.
Over the last two years, we've also learned that Obama is tremendously self pitying and self absorbed, something Reagan never was.
Okay, so let's stop the comparison with Reagan since it's obvious that there's no connection between the two, other than the appealing speeches and lofty reaches at the beginning of the campaign.
Horrifying to many of us has been the absolute irrational adoration of the masses for The One Who Was to Change the World.
Never, never was there this kind of adoration for Reagan, who is fondly remembered as someone who unified the American people, thus Reagan democrats.
Even some of the Republicans who adored Obama have backed away from the policies of this administration, though the foolishness remains with some.
But the slobbering singing about Obama, the religious incantations of his name, the worship (which continues to this day) of him as a spiritual leader certainly reveals something.
It reveals the weak mindedness of the Americans (not to mention Europeans) who worship him as the Messiah, to fill the God-shaped vacuum left when one lacks a real deity.
Their arguments are often specious when it comes to defending their adoration; they must resort to lying, cheating and stealing to even win many of their arguments.
The personal attacks against those who disagree with The Messiah and his disciples are vicious, ad hominem, usually lacking in merit and courtesy.
Weak minded. Utterly weak minded.
They could not see him for what he really was.
And now they're discouraged.
Pity this man.
Is such a stance a surprise?
And now we gloat.
H/T Red State.
