What could it BE?

Nobody thinks the Republicans are heroes. Everybody thinks they'd better get their rears in gear when they get a little (or a lot of) power back in this government. Either they toe the line, or they're out too.
But let's look at where we are now.
Obama is looking increasingly desperate, flailing around and accusing anyone who opposes him of being unpatriotic, racist, stupid and/or incompetent. He's running around the country trying to whip up votes by threatening voters, saying hope won't work this time, that voters have to have a commitment to his change if they want ALL his policies to be enacted, imploring voters to not make him look bad (because it's all about him, after all, anyway).
Conservative pundits wonder, is he cunning or incredibly out of touch? The finest minds are conflicted.
But now previously safe Dem candidates from all around the nation are struggling, as the country rejects the policies that could probably have been enacted gradually but were greedily snatched because of the power of controlling massive majorities in the Senate, the House and the Office of the Presidency.

In only one race (not counting Cao, who kind of deserves what he gets)  is there concern: Boxer seems to be holding her own against Fiorina, who is an excellent candidate and should be able to take her this year. Powerline's waiting for the surge.
  I dunno.
Could the problem be their track record?
Could the problem be their unlikeability?
Could the problem be the lies, the deceit, the ham fisted treatment of the American public.
  Could it be their hypocrisy?
Could it be constantly trying to blame everyone else for everything that's gone wrong, even when it's proven that it is unpopular with the people?
Could it be their thug guerilla tactics rather than adherence to the truth?
Could it be the fact that the insurance, health care industry and hospitals are falling apart?
Could it be that they get their cronies in the press to write nasty things about Republican candidates and then quote them as "The Columbus Dispatch" rather than the name of the liberal writer/commentator?
Could it be the insanity regarding illegal immigration and protection of the border and their absolute and total abnegation of responsibility for protecting the American people, even spending DHS money on various community projects, rather than the security of the country?
Could it be the unbelievable ads they are running, full of lies and hypocrisy? Like, for example, this one where they accuse the Chamber of Commerce of supporting the Republican party in ads with "foreign" money, after Obama refused to use eVerify to ascertain that the millions and millions and millions of cash dollars flowing in from around the world were actually from the United States? This was repeatedly, REPEATEDLY tested by bloggers, and each time it was clear that the Obama campaign, which cheated to beat Hillary Clinton, was taking any money from any person around the world who would contribute, like, for example, a donor named Jgtj Jfggjjfgj.
  I dunno.
  What could it be?

  1. " Nobody thinks the Republicans are heroes. Everybody thinks they'd better get their rears in gear when they get a little (or a lot of) power back in this government. Either they toe the line, or they're out too." Right on! Expect Senators Lugar, Hatch, and Ensign and maybe Hutchinson to get their wake up call next primary season.
But when we speak of holding their feet to the fire I don't think it wise to give the governors a pass. After the elections the Republicans will control well over 30 governorships and legislative bodies. Let thirty governors tell Obama and Sebelius that they won't be raising taxes to fund the Medicaid mandates in Obamacare no matter how the courts rule. Witness the Obamacare referendum in the Missouri primary where Obamacare went down in flame with over 70% of the voters saying no, no, and hell no.
Recall the treatment the states have given the "Real Id Act of 2005". To date not a single state is in compliance and twenty-five states have passed binding resolutions or legislation not to comply and that, my friends, is called nullification! This fight is winnable if they would just fight.

  2. If they're willing to fight. That's the truth. I think we'll be on track and that the Orrin Hatches of the world are going to be running suddenly right, although that deal with Murkowski still bugs. The thing people have to realize is (and that includes those of us in the tea party movement or whatever it is) is that it's not over even in 2012. We have to stay vigilant. We have to keep active. One of my favorite quotes by Patrick Henry: "The battle, Sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.
Thanks, as always, for the comment.
