The president acknowledged there are people "hanging by a thread," but said Republicans have only offered the "philosophy that nearly destroyed our economy." He encouraged Ohio voters to tell the GOP they don't want to go back to those principles.
The president was introduced by his wife, Michelle, who called the midterms a "serious moment for the country, with so much at stake."From Real Clear politics:
President Obama, with a coarse voice, warned a crowd in Ohio: "They're fighting back. The empire is striking back. To win this election, they are plowing tens of millions of dollars into front groups. They are running misleading negative ads all across the country."
Another very amusing joke by the president of the United States.
He claims "the empire is striking back" as if Republicans are organized and focused enough to form an "empire" that has swooped in and descended on the beleagered, besieged and underarmed noble Barack Skywalker.
So who's the "empire," Barack Skywalker? Orrin Hatch? Mitch McConnell? Jim deMint? Somehow your party cannot see that the votes people are planning on placing are AGAINST you, not necessarily FOR the Republicans.
How much more absurd can the metaphors get? It's great that you've added a new one to your portfolio because the car one's getting really really old but COME ON! The EMPIRE?
Try to come up with something more believable than that. It won't resonate with the voters.
Waiting for the hoots today.
