In the UK, an absolutely preposterous idea has emerged. It's easy to say that won't happen here, but most of us know that's no reassurance, considering the bizarre things that have happened in the last year and a half, including our (as taxpayers) buying washers and dryers for the neighbors, our paying off the neighbor's credit card (as long as it exceeds $10,000!!!), our paying for $2 million temporary jobs in California, a health care program modeled after the UK with long lines and refusals to pay for medicine and procedures....you get the picture.
Now in the UK the government is proposing all employers send their money to the government first and then the government will issue all paychecks! Great idea, no? Because the government would most likely never make any mistakes and surely get those checks out earlier, right?
Think Post Office.

The UK's tax collection agency is putting forth a proposal that all employers send employee paychecks to the government, after which the government would deduct what it deems as the appropriate tax and pay the employees by bank transfer.
