Evening roundup

While the guys over at Powerline (who also have a great little article about Josh Mandel, Republican candidate for treasurer of the state of Ohio) ponder the future of O'Donnell, one of the most interesting reads of the day is by Doctor Zero at Hot Air, who goes after the NY Times house "conservative" David Brooks for criticizing the tea parties as narcissistic, egomaniacal liars.
Here's a sample from Hot Air. Be sure to read the whole thing and check out the links because he's got his facts down straight:
Narcissism? Brooks thinks the Tea Party suffers from it, but does not mention Obama. I guess Brooks thinks there’s no narcissism in Obama’s comparing his election to the fall of the Berlin Wall, or turning the White House into almost a shrine to himself, or reading a letter from someone who says she is going to be buried in an Obama T-shirt, or building an imperial stage for his nomination speech, or writing his autobiography years before being elected President.
One hopes true conservatives avoid this kind of behavior.
Take a look at this video of Breitbart being "received" by union thugs at a conservative convention. There's a longer video over at Breitbart TV which is also revealing in its anger, hatred and ugliness. Ironically, the union protest had a "Stop the Hate" theme or something. As usual, the anointed ones are exempt from having to practice what they preach.
One thing that is always difficult to understand is why people feel a need to crash other people's parties. This particular gathering Breitbart was attending was the Right Nation conference in Chicago.
While it's perfectly legitimate, in fact a citizen's duty, to protest political figures with whom they disagree, it sometimes seems tasteless and rude to scream invectives at people who are simply gathering for informational and organizational purposes, yet this is practice among the left.
