Schadenfreude: taking pleasure in the misery of others
They're calling it triage over at NRO; we mentioned that the dem establishment looks like it's pulling funding from candidates in Ohio. Apparently Ohio isn't the only state facing austerity measures when it comes to democrat candidates. Take a sip 'o tea, mosey on over to NRO and gander at this. Meanwhile sorehead losers Castle and Murkowski are still pining over their lost power. Castle refuses to endorse the party winner (cough-RINO), whining about Rush and Hannity saying bad things about him and refusing to admit his loss might have something to do with his positions on the issues, profligate spending and basic attraction to power rather than principle and reason. Murkowski (cough-RINO), as y'all have heard by now, has decided to pursue power by becoming a write-in candidate to oppose the will of the people who voted for Miller rather than retain Murkowski. In her self-pitying, self-aggrandizing announcement last night, she commended herself for "doing what's best for Alaska" by entering as a write-in candidate. For a change, Republican leadership has bowed to the will of the people by nudging her to not do this because she will lose leadership positions in the party.Huh. Like Castle, she reveals herself and her true motivation through her behavior. She calls Miller an "extremist." What is extremist to RINOs and dems is apparently the beliefs that traditional values matter, that financial austerity is to be practiced at both the local and federal levels, and that the future needs to be shaped in a good way by what we do today. While some dems and the MSM (one of which was recently sold at $1, overpriced, I might add) delude themselves that they will actually gain seats in the upcoming election, others have figured out that what's comin' down the road ain't good for dems. What's been really remarkable has been the insurgence of conservative women, who are winning repeatedly across the country, the so-called "Mama Grizzlies." You don't read much, that's positive anyway, about this wave, but they're coming and it's a good thing to be redefining feminism this way. The latest primary day was a defining moment.Dems are realizing that they can't stop the wave. Their ridicule has not gained traction. Their wild spending spree is about to end, and they're scrambling to restate (not redefine) their messages to become more conservative and even, heh. pro Republican, although you'll have to watch that one to believe it.Republicans are realizing they're in the way or gone if they don't shape up. This is history. This is now. The first to know a tsunami is coming are the animals, who rush to the hills fleeing the bewildered humans who continue in the path of destruction. If you're near the seashore and the tide suddenly goes out, far enough that you see fish flopping in the mud, this means a tsunami is coming. Run to higher ground immediately. Fish are smart creatures and never flop around at low tide. The reason the tide goes out so far is that a tsunami is a very long wave. A Tsunami is a wave train. There may be 5 to 20 waves altogether. The first waves are typically small, and subsequent waves become larger. This means if you don't get washed away by the first wave, you still need to stay away from the shore to escape the others. Tsunami waves come at fixed periods, typically 10 minutes to 2 hours. This is much slower than normal waves, which come every few seconds. Judging from today's news, I would say we are at the fish flopping stage. Beware the tsunami. The first waves are typically small, but the subsequent waves become larger. |
It looks like my Congressman, Brad Ellsworth, is washed up or washed out with the tsunami on his way to the Senate. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iRQgGCrZl-CyAwp19NNzMstv2gaQD9I9T71O0
ReplyDeleteTsunamis are a bitch and so is triage!
