So how DOES FLOTUS get her wardrobe? Meh. Who cares.

Earlier we wrote about the question of where Michelle Obama gets her wardrobe and the fact that she doesn't appear to be paying for anything she wears. Let's take a walk down memory lane and see how the question of where FLOTUSes get their stuff has been treated in the past.
First, the current FLOTUS, about whom much has been written regarding her fashion style as the COOLEST style on the face of the PLANET, EVAH!
It is no secret that the Obamas are advocates for free handouts, but even in her personal life Michelle Obama does not appear to have shied away from accepting free goodies. Numerous news outlets have reported on the first lady’s proclivity for high fashion. And Mrs. Obama’s pricey tastes have not precluded her ability to wear the outfits over which many women drool.
Rumors abound as to exactly how the first family obtains all the pomp and frills associated with Mrs. Obama’s wardrobe. Do the Obamas pay for it all themselves or are the first lady’s outfits given to her gratis? As with most things, it appears the answer lies somewhere in the middle.
Okay, so nobody's really too curious about where she gets all her free stuff, as I wrote here. In fact, here's the reaction of the watchdog group Citizens for Responsiblity and Ethics:

A spokesman for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington told TheDC that while it might not look good, Mrs. Obama’s acceptance of gifts probably does not represent an ethical conflict. “There is no gift rule that applies because she is not an executive employee,” the spokesman said.
So, meh, nobody cares much about it and she's not elected anyway.
Let's see how the press treated another FLOTUS Nancy Reagan. From Wikipedia, where people can make public their own grudges, no matter how old they are:
Though her elegant fashions and wardrobe were hailed as a "glamorous paragon of chic",[75] they were also controversial subjects. In 1982, she revealed that she had accepted thousands of dollars in clothing, jewelry, and other gifts, but defended her actions by stating that she had borrowed the clothes and that they would either be returned or donated to museums,[74][78] and that she was promoting the American fashion industry.[79] Facing criticism, she soon said she would no longer accept such loans.[79] While often buying her clothes, she continued to borrow and sometimes keep designer clothes throughout her time as first lady, which came to light in 1988.[80]None of this had been included on financial disclosure forms;[80] the non-reporting of loans under $10,000 in liability was in violation of a voluntary agreement the White House had made in 1982, while not reporting more valuable loans or clothes not returned was a possible violation of the Ethics in Government Act.[80][81][82] Nancy expressed through her press secretary "regrets that she failed to heed counsel's advice" on disclosing them.[82]
And we won't even bring up Sarah Palin, who was only a candidate for VP. So if you are a Republican FLOTUS and well-dressed, they'll find a way to cut you down to size. If you're a democrat FLOTUS, you'll be lauded as well-dressed and nobody will ask you where you got your stuff.
  Got it? Makes perfect sense
