James Brolin on Fox & Friends

Well, okay, so BARBRA wasn't on F & F but Brolin was there promoting his new film Standing Ovation. It was a pretty fluffy interview overall.
Brian asked him about the IDEAS festival where he and Barbra were approving of Mort Zuckerman's devastating remarks about the economic buffoons in the White House. Brolin responded that he is not an activist and usually has the wrong information (ha). Brolin made a point to say, "My wife loves you" to Geraldo Rivera, who was there to talk about the NAACP slams against tea parties. (Geraldo actually defended the tea parties earlier, surprisingly.) Hm. She has to WATCH him, and thus Fox News Channel, to LIKE Geraldo, who isn't quite as bad as the drama queen Shep Smith.
Of course, Brolin's new film is family friendly so Fox & Friends is a good place to go to win over that audience, but his appearance connotes something more. In the past, most activist liberals would not appear on Fox at all. In fact, there was a scene in Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm where he and other characters were bandying about where to hawk a new tv series and when a peer brought up Fox, Larry David said specifically, "No, I'm not doing anything with them. I don't like their politics."
  So what's up. We wonder.
