Are we at a turning point?

Somethin' happenin' here..What it is ain't exactly clear.

On the pages of the Wall Street Journal, Dorothy Rabinowitz speculates about "The Alien in the White House":
They are attitudes to be found everywhere, but never before in a president of the United States. Mr. Obama may not hold all, or the more extreme, of these views. But there can be no doubt by now of the influences that have shaped him. They account for his grand apology tour through the capitals of Europe and to the Muslim world, during which he decried America's moral failures—her arrogance, insensitivity. They were the words of a man to whom reasons for American guilt came naturally. Americans were shocked by this behavior in their newly elected president. But he was telling them something from those lecterns in foreign lands—something about his distant relation to the country he was about to lead.
On American Thinker, a shrink analyzes the behavior of the president of the United States in an essay called "What is Wrong with Obama"?
Because Obama will not change. He will not learn from his mistakes. He will not grow and mature from on-the-job experience. In fact, over time, Obama will likely become a more ferocious version of who he is today.

Why? Because this is a damaged person. Obama's fate was sealed years ago growing up in his strange and poisonous family. Later on, his empty vessel was filled with the hateful bile of men like Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers.
Obama will not evolve; he will not rise to the occasion; he will not become the man he was meant to be. This is for one reason and one reason alone:
He is not capable of it.
A blog (strident, but truthful) repeats a statement/rumor apparently from Israel Today that Obama revealed to the Egyptian foreign minister that he is a Muslim, always has been, always will be.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said he had a one-on-one meeting with Obama, in which President Obama told him that he was still a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father, the stepson of Muslim stepfather, that his half brothers in Kenya are Muslims, and that he was sympathetic towards the Muslim agenda.
But what else is happening? Conservatives have railed against Obama for almost two years; they will never agree with his agenda.

The tone and tension are ratcheted up, most likely due to the absolute inadequacy of this government, first with spending, then with health care and now with the massive oil disaster in the Gulf.

And Obama parties. And golfs. And fundraises. All on the taxpayers' dime.

Seemingly oblivious and unaware of the world around him, the struggles and the trials. He's given away all our money, and now wants to print more.

But the tension on the left is ratcheting up also, because they see what is happening and cannot bear to face it. Most vocal was James Carville:
And then mean Maureen Dowd, Obama's cynical cheerleader:
And panic from the ultra liberal Joan Walsh at Salon:
And an expose? from ROLLING STONE, which Walsh considers damning? Rolling Stone even goes so far as to quote an expert who says that the decision to use toxic dispersant to dispel the oil rather than collect it (which is doable) revealed political motivations of making the situation appear to be improving rather than degrading, as it obviously was. Obama and his team's behavior throughout is criticized. His complete detachment, after so many months, appears to be upsetting the starry eyed dreamers at the Rolling Stone who desired the Lightbringer to create a new paradigm:

Meanwhile, the cerebral, highly intelligent hapless One continues to deflate his own public image by engaging in blaming Bush, self-pitying screeds,  moronic statements such as "My powers as president aren't limitless.....I can't suck the oil up in a straw," and partying down and golfing for four hours during the crisis. He cannot seem to see what a fool he appears to be, to both the left and the right.

And tensions are running so high and Democrats feeling so much heat that they won't hold townhall meetings for their constituents, one even assaulting two students who approached him on the street.

Obama, increasingly shrill and detached from reality, is not holding together his followers. In fact, he vows to use the tragedy of the oil spill to advance his agenda to pass a cap and trade tax and doesn't seem to understand how utterly tasteless and classless that is.

If reports are true that the oil spill in the Gulf is far worse than anyone imagines, as indicated by the closing of the air space around the territory and the clampdown on photographers, then we have a real problem developing that is simply not going to go away. The consequences will be long term.

Yes, somethin's happenin' here and what it is ain't exactly clear.

But it sure looks like we're at a turning point.

We just can't quite see it yet.
