FTC seeks to "reinvent" journalism

Although it's hard to see how journalism could be any more in the tank for Democrats, lots of warning signals go up with this report from the Washington Examiner. Who chooses who gets government funding? What happens to those who do not? Who decides what "standards" are to be met? How on earth can any newspaper be considered "free press" if the government is tied up in it? And where are all those idiots claiming Bush was trying to control their lives? We need a new website called "ImagineifBushhaddoneit.com"

Release of the Federal Trade Commission'sworking paper on "reinventing journalism" makes it clear that there is no more time for diplomacy about this issue: Barack Obama is determined to federalize the news industry just as he has banking, autos, and health care.
Everybody who wants independent journalism had better wake up to these three facts about what is going on right now:
