3.8% home sales tax for new health care plan

Gateway Pundit, always essential reading, points to this article on the numerous and heavy handed taxes included in the new health care plan. Did anybody know about this? Taxes on tanning, on medical devices, sales of all existing homes, taxes for not buying health insurance, taxes on savings, taxes on health care plans (yes), taxes on Medicare. Who knows what else? Can you imagine? Every time you sell your house, you will have to give 3.8% of it to the government. Unbelievable.

  1. The home sale tax may only be on the gain xs of the cap gains exclusion.

  2. This is very misleading...income limits will rule out most people and then the capital gains exemptions will rule out just about everyone else. Maybe the very, very wealthy will get hit with this but that's exactly who should.

    1. Why should the "very wealthy" be burnded with this problem? because they are succesful they should be punished? I barly make 50k a yr and under no cirmcumstances think the "very" wealthy should have to pay more taxes just because they work hard and can afford to. Who is one to say that they should get hit with that tax? The problem is the lazy Americans in our country that want to live off the system. Let me know how you like all the new taxes.

    2. And we won't have any "very wealthy" anymore anyway.

  3. Go ahead and tell yourself that. Wealthy people should pay for everything, including your health care. Then when they quit buying yachts made in America and cars made in America and they give up their citizenships to avoid taxes and quit hiring people like YOU, then maybe it'll matter to you that we have yet another unsustainable entitlement and no one left to bilk for it.
