It is amusing to see the Obama administration creating the image of poorly treated unpaid interns, when Mr. Obama's Organizing for America offered internships to help elect the president during his presidential campaign and are still offering up unpaid internships today. In fact, the summer organizing program also does not even offer food, transportation, or housing stipends:

Obama offers internships but makes them illegal for companies
So recently the Obama administration ruled that unpaid internships will be against the law. One might wonder what will happen to all the young people who use internships as resume builders and stepping stones to jobs: what, for example, will happen to student teachers? Schools certainly can't afford to pay them, yet those are unpaid internships. How do you get experience without building blocks of summer jobs and internships?
