DPS School Board chief can't write

We've been following this story for a week or so. It's gone national. The argument is that the Detroit Public Schools school board chief should be applauded because, even though he has a "disability," he has made a success out of his life by rising to the top and becoming DPS school board chief. (Go here for story) His university wouldn't give him his diploma for 10 years because he was so deficient. My question is, if you're overcoming your "disabilities," why on EARTH wouldn't you have someone proofread your emails before you send them out to everyone? This shows an incredible lack of judgment. Just a reminder: DPS student scores were so bad that the school board CRIED when they saw them. The students could have scored higher by GUESSING, they were told. So what do you think?
