The big stink at CPAC

Well, there is the controversy over Glenn Beck's equating Republicans with Democrats as far as spending and a tin ear to the people. You may not have seen the controversy, however, over a gay group called GOPride which espouses conservative values, except in the area of gay rights. One speaker denounced them from the podium (which I thought was very rude). A blogger addresses the conflict here:

there was a bit of drama on the main stage Friday.  During a lightening round of two minute speeches, Alexander McCobin, co-founder and President of Students for Liberty, rightly praised CPAC for supporting GOProud and not bowing to pressure to remove them as an event co-sponsor.  A few social conservative groups had made a stink about it – and I think at least one withdrew as a co-sponsor themselves – but for the most part everyone has been proud to have them aboard. But one of the speakers to follow McCobin saw it differently.
