Missionaries cleared

The Christian missionaries who went to a festival in Dearborn to hand out Christian tracts have been acquitted of "inciting" the crowd (mob) at the festival, which was primarily Muslim. While it is difficult to justify people who go to other people's rallies/gatherings simply to voice their opposition, it seems these men were simply handing out tracts, a perfectly legal act in this country at least so far. More appalling behavior by dems, unions

  This video has been floating around a couple days. 
  You have to admire the nerve of Sharron Angle who continues to answer questions and address issues while the crowd laughs and catcalls. 
  Now, you might say, well, she is just facing the same behavior established politicians have faced at town halls. 
  It is not the same thing. Those politicians are facing the consequences of their bad behavior in office. The citizens who protested those politicians were protesting issues and the laws and numerous regulations those politicians had passed or were trying to pass that would directly affect the citizens' lives. 
  In the case of Angle, the mob is obviously trying to goad her into behaving angrily to use the video against her later and to influence her answers. In addition, they weren't there to discuss the issues or let her voice her position on the issues that will affect their lives. They were there to prevent her from speaking. In general, in the town halls citizens were trying to further free speech rather than prevent it.

Voting in dem states prepared for cheating?

J Christian Adams and Christopher Coates have taken the lid off a scandal brewing about voter rolls. As usual, the dems are willing to bully citizens, buy votes with billions of dollars, mock and ridicule those who oppose their controlling ideas, and now steal votes. Over at Verum Serum:

Apparently the states in question include Maryland, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Oregon,  and Tennessee. Several other states including Indiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Kentucky now havemore registered voters than people of voting age. This should not be a partisan issue, but when an Administration institutes a policy of turning a blind eye to these types of violations, it’s a fair bet that they are benefiting politically from the misconduct.

Colbert's appearance exemplifies everything that's wrong with the democrat party

  Huh. Who would think the dems are in some kind of crisis, considering what we are watching on tv, with Colbert not seeming to realize he jumped the shark and behaved inappropriately. 
  Huh. 
  Sure, talking about "corn packers" in front of Congress might be a bit dicey. 
  Sure, trying to get your colonoscopy images might be, um, questionable and sure, the attitude of a smart-mouthed, wise-crackin' comedian snarking at Congress might be a bit hard to justify in the face of, say, 10% unemployment, numerous home foreclosures, company meltdowns and the most onerous tax burdens ever recorded in history, but, hey!   We're lords and ladies over y'all and we can do whatever we want! It's not like *MOVIE STARS* haven't appeared before CONGRESS on important issues before!

During a rural recession in 1985, the House Agriculture Committee dramatized the plight of farm families at a hearing. But rather than summoning actual suffering farmers, the panel brought in several millionaire actresses who had portrayed farm wives in movies or on TV.  

Testimony on the problem was provided by Jessica Lange, from the movie "Country"; Sissy Spacek, who starred in "The River," and Jane Fonda from "The Dollmaker." Sally Field, who starred in "Places of the Heart," couldn't make it, but her statement was read to the committee. 

  I mean, COME ON! They aren't farm wives but they played one on TEEVEE!! And Colbert doesn't really know anything about being a migrant worker, but he PLAYED ONE ON TEEVEE! So, by all means, Congress, which has been working so HARD for the American people these days, go ahead and invite a comedian into your domain! It's not like everything else you've been doing is a joke or anything! 
  In reality, the mess over at this hearing yesterday is emblematic of everything that's wrong with the current situation in Washington. The lords and ladies in charge:

• think they can do anything
• blow money like crazy, even on crap like this
• think the rummies out here would find Colbert amusing because we're too stupid to get what's going on
• think they own the entertainment industry (they do, pretty much, to our detriment)
• have a deep lack of understanding of where the public is right now, politically, economically and socially
• think the US government is their playground
• don't find it insulting to the working man that a millionaire comedian would attempt to work their job for one day and then claim they know everything about the job
• think that some actor coming in in character isn't a problem because it was for the amusement of the lords and ladies while the country starves
• lack respect for the process of government

 How about this illustration, which would have been much better than the one we saw yesterday. 
  Invite David Copperfield, the magician, in to perform a magic trick. 
  He could say, "Look, lords and ladies, watch this!" as he covers 13 trillion dollars with a huge cloth and then poof! Makes it disappear. Now that'd be a joke.
  Right.

It would be unbecoming for us at The Weekly -Standard​—we do have to uphold standards, after all!—to chortle with glee as the Democratic party melts down. It would be unkind to whoop at the top of our lungs as Obama White House big shots quit or get fired, and to cheer with gusto as the GOP leadership behaves sensibly, the Tea Party goes from strength to strength, and momentum builds towards a huge Election Day repudiation of big government liberalism.

Herman Cain: Run, Herman, RUN!!!

  If you've been following the career of Herman Cain at all, you know he is a rock star in "our" (the tea party) community. There's a lot over on YouTube of Herman's speeches at tea parties. 
  He is the founder of Godfather Pizza. He is a black Republican. He is a conservative who understands fiscal conservatism.
  He says that at this time he is prayerfully considering a run for president: there is much uncertainty in business; uncertainty in taxes; uncertainty socially, politically, economically.
  He says if one or both chambers of Congress swing to Republican, he will strongly consider running for president.

And that’s OK — at least right now — for the black Republican who has become a sought after speaker on the Tea Party circuit. The former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza says he’s going to build a grassroots coalition of supporters from the bottom up, if he decides to run, and if the Tea Party movement in 2010 is any indication, Republicans won’t be looking to nominate a household name for president in 2012.

Criminals as "care"takers

  Maybe you've had a relative who doesn't take very good care of an ancient family member. It's pretty depressing, especially if you can't help, but, still, you figure that the non-caretaker relative is at least related to the ancient family member and, thus, will preserve the ancient family member based on fealty, at least. 
  But what if there's no one?
  How about this? How about we hire some convicts to take care of your ancient family member? Does that invest you with confidence? Who would do that, you might ask?
  And the answer is, of course, as it always is, THE GOVERNMENT.
  Picture this. The ancient family member, barely getting around, dependent on the ex-con (who has been convicted of both robbery and elder abuse, btw) to provide care. Have you ever seen a predator prowl a vulnerable home? It's pretty creepy and they have pretty good lines for why they are moving from room to room. "Oh, I've never seen that room of the house before!" or "Hey, this is a really pretty house!"

Coates to testify in the New Black Panthers' case

This is tremendously important news. Christian Adams has said that Christopher Coates could corroborate his testimony of the misconduct in the DOJ, including the New Black Panthers' case and the DOJ's determination not to cleanse state rolls of dead voters. Why would this be, one might ask, if truly interested in fair and honest elections? And why did DOJ deny Coates the opportunity to testify in front of the Civil Rights Commission if there is nothing to hide? Read over at PJM:

Told by the Department of Justice to ignore a subpoena from the Civil Rights Commission, former Voting Section Chief Coates has instead chosen to comply. His testimony Friday morning is likely to be incredibly damaging to DOJ leadership and the Obama administration. Though we haven't had the critics take apart Palladino as they have O'Donnell, he's apparently not far behind the fair haired NY boy Cuomo AND Gillibrand is close???? Amazing! Over at NRO Corner:

Pelosi thinks the momentum is with democrats!

Bwahaha. She can't admit the truth. She can't face the fact that the congress she has helped alienate since 2007 is going to be booted out the door. I hope they have cameras in there recording her moving out of that magnificent office, which she probably just had redecorated. You can listen to the audio here.   Over at the tone deaf White House, the spokesman is busily attacking the Republicans' pledge to cut spending, as if only spending huge amounts on some Chinese credit card is the only way to get the country's jobs back. 
  Ha. That's made a lot of sense. Spend 2 million dollars on each temporary job. Yeah. Republicans are nuts to not want to pay off people's credit cards. Ugh.
  Over at Politico:

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, writing on the White House blog, said Republicans “doubled down on the same ideas that hurt America’s middle class,” listing tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires, tax hikes for the middle class, “cutting rules and oversight” for financial services, health care and oil, all while adding to the deficit.

  Yeah, what are these people smokin.' Who imagined how off track they could get with the efficient campaign (admittedly dirty) they ran. Well,okay, I did. It'd been better to be wrong.
  Like Chris Christie says, it's easy to say yes all the time and that's how the government and budget grows.
  It's hard to say no.
  But that is what needs to be done. We have no choice if we want to be competitive. There's no more money.

So, yes, the Ohio Education Association is advertising Ohio teachers go to DC on October 2 to mingle with their "partners" Code Pink and the Communist Party. 

BARNEY FWANK IN TROUBLE???

The ballot is very encouraging and shows Bielat at 38%, Frank at 48% and 13% undecided.

This is very encouraging because Barney Frank is an incumbent congressman who has served in Congress since 1981, has a favorable opinion slightly above 50% in a strongly Democratic district, but is now below 50% on the ballot. Frank has fallen 5 points on the ballot since July and shows that the national wave of frustration amongst the voters is even reaching the Democrat stronghold of Massachusetts 4th Congressional District.
