Final DNC night: parade of screamers, lightweights and liars

  Well, I made it through the whole evening of watching excited Leftists claim they love the military repeatedly even while they work to squelch their votes, tell their sad sack sob stories about how poor they were when they were kids, and parade movie stars across the stage, some of whom were real winners.
  Of the latter, much as I can't stand her, Eva Longoria's was probably the best. She actually told a charming little story that resonated, at least with me, although she's been accused of bad math.
  The meanest and dumbest *star* was definitely Kerry Washington, who said the following:

Look, I get it. Whether it's school, work, family, we've all got a lot on our minds. People say to me, "I'm just too busy to think about politics." But here's the thing: You may not be thinking about politics, but politics is thinking about you. 

Today there are people trying take away rights that our mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers fought for: our right to vote, our right to choose, affordable quality education, equal pay, access to health care. We the people can't let that happen.

  So the personified "politics is thinking about you" instantly became a Twitter meme. It has to be seen to be believed. She starts flipping out about 90 seconds in, angrily declaring that "people out there" (presumably Republicans) are working to take away their vote, their voices, their choice, their rights and make them invisible!!!
  She concludes with the profound thought that THEY are going to win because they are "the people," perhaps a foreshadowing of her upcoming film called "We the Peeples."

  Scarlett Johanssen was pretty lightweight.
  Then there was Jennifer Granholm, Current TV host and Canadian who ran Michigan into the ground as governor, who looked absolutely unhinged, like she was on something. Her behavior was grandiosely comical, now being equating with the Dean scream. Gosh, it was bizarre.
  Here's a funny mashup of it:

  Joe Biden has the habit of repeating himself, using the word "literally" when it's not warranted, and overconfidently lowering his voice as if he thinks he's holding his audience spellbound. 
  It was amusing that the DNC found one way to bottle Biden to minimize gaffes: put him on safely edited video. The video, of course, included bold pronouncements of the "bravery" and "courage" of this man who has a "spine of steel," even though all he did was say "yes" to the order to kill bin Ladin.
  Plus the adulation of Obama is seriously obscene--but that was true of the entire convention, which should have been labeled "The Cult of Obama," who has pretty much decimated the Democrat party as evidenced by the old and tired (though rich) losers paraded on the stage this week.
  But Obama himself. 
  Not unlike the self-indulgent Clintonian style of speaking, Obama went on and on, saying the same ole same ole things that simply aren't true, ignoring the true hazards our country faces, and mocking those with whom he disagrees.
  What was on display last night was that this arrogant man is intolerant of others' viewpoints, is condescending to average Americans, out of touch with reality and full of empty ideas that have no substance.
  And, believe it or not, some of his fans are actually fact checking him on his lies.
  No, really.

Who "saved" the auto industry? Bush.

  Personally I don't get all the adulation from the media about how great Bill Clinton was talking last night.
  The snippets on display today and the fact that he talked and talked and talked and was SO boring mean people weren't really watching. 
  You'll note that the networks are beginning their coverage of the last night of the DNC at 9:00 pm as opposed to 10:00.
  That's two hours.
  Wasn't RNC last night coverage limited to one hour from 10:00 to 11:00? If so, WHY?
  So Bill Clinton, along with unionists and the Obama team, claims that Obama saved the auto industry.
  Tea Partiers and many Americans did not agree with the auto industry bailout; whether it's saved or not remains to be seen. There were many negative repercussions from the partisan way it was done.
  But Obama did NOT make the decision to "save the auto industry."
  No.
  George Bush, who hasn't changed his mind about it. did.
  He met with Obama 6 days after the election
  Obama turned the bailout into a nightmare of unionist demands, taxpayer sacrifices and partisan auto dealers' closures.

  So get it SHTRAIGHT, Leftists.
  George Bush bailed out the auto industry.

Breaking up with Barack Obama

  I'm liking this new GOP, one where people actually respond in a timely manner to attacks, one where they don't let Leftists own the narrative and one where the Romney bus repeatedly circles Obama events.
  Here's the latest RNC ad:

  In a post entitled "Why won't Obama voters break up with him," the WaPo immediately gushes out protestations, saying that the Republican assumption that voters like Obama personally, feel he's done a poor job but feel guilty about not voting for him is flawed. In fact, that voters have substantive reasons for wanting to continue to support Obama.
  Sargent feels that Bill Clinton's 60 minute plus speech presented the substantive case for continuing to support Obama.
  Like anyone was awake or still tuned in by 11:30.
  Seriously.
  Bill Clinton. Impeached disbarred liar who cheats on his wife. Father of the modern Democrat Party.
  What alternate universe are these people living in anyway?

Sandra Fluke: the aggrieved victim

    DNC speaker Sandra Fluke, who was so wounded by Rush's euphemistically calling her a "slut"earlier this year, has reached the pinnacle of Leftist iconography.
  She was allowed the opportunity to represent the aggrieved victim on the DNC stage, eliciting sympathy from the adoring victim-hungry crowds.
  Here's part of her speech. Note the victimology language, which makes her sound like a defenseless, innocent child who was attacked by a meanie man:

We’ve also seen another future we could choose. First of all, we’d have the right to choose. It’s an America in which no one can charge us more than men for the exact same health insurance; in which no one can deny us affordable access to the cancer screenings that could save our lives; in which we decide when to start our families. An America in which our president, when he hears a young woman has been verbally attacked, thinks of his daughters—not his delegates or donors—and stands with all women. And strangers come together, reach out and lift her up. And then, instead of trying to silence her, you invite me here—and give me a microphone—to amplify our voice.

  Now, choice is only something Leftists want for you when it comes to killing babies, even if full term. It does NOT include what you ingest, buy, read, drive or even sometimes where you live.
  And why on earth would insurance companies charge one gender more for health care than another? Could it have something to do with more medical procedures one gender will need because of something called childbirth?
  This America of which Fluke speaks is not one we know. 
  She describes it this way, as if we live in Pakistan or something, where women are beheaded for being, well, women:

In that America, your new president could be a man who stands by when a public figure tries to silence a private citizen with hateful slurs. Who won’t stand up to the slurs, or to any of the extreme, bigoted voices in his own party. It would be an America in which you have a new vice president who co-sponsored a bill that would allow pregnant women to die preventable deaths in our emergency rooms. 

  And so forth.
  You'll note that Fluke seems oblivious of the horrendous slurred uttered against Black and/or female conservatives such as Sarah Palin or Condeleezza Rice, whether they are currently political or not. 
  Sandra Fluke, whether she's willing to admit it or not, is a political operative, a 30 year old woman who has long supported extreme abortion positions that most of America rejects and, in fact, abhors.
  Not everyone accepts Fluke's depiction of the US as such a meanie country trying to hurt her, including Democrat (albeit a reasonable one) Kirsten Powers, who tweeted several times that she was offended by Fluke's characterization of the US as such an abhorrent country:

My response to Fluke: The US is one of the best countries in the world to be born in if you are a woman. I thank God that i was born here.

  Twitchy has much more. 
  The DNC has repeatedly shown itself this week to be extreme and out of the mainstream as far as Americans' sacred beliefs.
  Leftists seem unable to be objective when it comes to politics anymore, particularly the likes of icons.
  Meanwhile, we wait for Powers to be thrown under the bus.

Strickland exemplifies ugliness of convention

  I set out last night to watch the DNC. I simply couldn't do it. Flipped the channel. So then I says to myself, "Well, ya gotta watch Clinton. I mean, you've been almost nostalgic for the Clinton days ever since Obama began his money rampage and class warfare tirades."
  So I flicked over when Clinton came on and, sure enough, there's white haired former POTUS striding cockily across the stage, confidently waving to the adoring screaming crowd, many of whom no doubt wish they could have been under his desk.
  I tried. I did. I listened to about 2 minutes and then realized I really can't stand Clinton either. He started that whole partisan baloney of shoving his own facts, figures and rationalization in people's faces and I had to turn it off. I kept hearing, "Now listen to me. I. did. not. have. sexual......"
  And that was it.
  From today's clips, I remember why.
  He goes on and on.
  He doesn't give credit to the balance of power that pulled him back from the Leftist Edge he so gravitates toward.
  He loves himself so much.
  And his nose is so big.
  The point of a convention is to ramp your people up. The point of a convention is to BE partisan.
  These people are nasty. This convention is filled with hate, abortion and lies.
  I understand partisanship; it's what elections are about.
  But this is ugliness. A great example is in the video below of Ted Strickland and his mean little snipes about Romney. 
  I mean really? 
  Rich people making fun of rich people for being rich?
  Rich people who live in mansions mocking other people's mansions?
  Wealthy insulated politicians who give little of their own money voluntarily to the needy deriding the motives and impugning the character of a wealthy insulated politician who gives millions away?
  I'm resisting the urge to write the famous weepy drug addled Rodney King plaintive question, "Wha, wha, why can't we all just get along?"

Ohio Secretary of State Sued to Update Voter Rolls

Judicial Watch, a conservative watch dog organization, has filed suit against Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted for failing to keep accurate voting rolls. In the complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Judicial Watch asks the court to find Husted in violation of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and to comply with the act which requires the Secretary to “conduct a general program that makes a reasonable effort to remove the names of ineligible voters from the official lists of eligible voters by reason of – (A) the death of the registrant; or (B) a change in the residence of the registrant.”
Using Census records and voter registration data, Judicial Watch determined that the number of names on voter rolls exceeds 105 percent of each county’s voting age population in both Auglaize County and Wood County. In Morrow County, the number of voter registrations exceeds 100 percent of the voting age population.
In 31 other counties, the number of registered voters is between 90 and 100 percent of the voting age population. Overall, 34 of Ohio’s 88 counties have a number of registered voters far in excess of the 71 percent average recorded in the 2008 presidential election. Judicial Watch argues that these numbers paint a clear picture of negligence with regard to Husted’s NVRA Section 8 responsibilities.

Video Shows Democratic Party Not Onboard With God and Jerusalem Amendment

 

A fair viewing of the video of the voice vote to put God and Jerusalem back into the Democratic Party platform clearly shows the amendment failed. It was rammed through by convention chairman Antonio Villaraigosa to save embarrassment but clearly the party is not onboard.

Remarkable! Chuck Schumer Doesn't Know Obama's Position on Jerusalem

It seems odd that Senator Chuck Schumer does not know Obama's position on Jerusalem's future as the capitol of Israel. The senior senator from New York with his perfect 1600 SAT score we have heard so much about doesn't know? Can he give us the name of the person who would know? Were the old line Democratic allies of Israel blind sided by the platform committee's omission of a statement supporting Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel? This is a major shift in the party's position and may be fairly viewed as the first step toward selling Israel down the river. And Senator Schumer doesn't know?

Copter Crew Eastwoods Obama

If this sort of thing went on during George Bush's presidency I don't remember it. Bush and the military had an almost reverential represent for one another. Obama uses his troops as a backdrop for his political agenda whether it's forcing noncoms to sit through boring speeches for television consumption or attempting to glum on to the SEAL's bin Laden assassination. Turn about is fair play.

The idolatry continues: does anyone really think Dems are the party of fiscal responsibility?

  Well, I watched it all the way through last night until Michelle Obama came on and then I passed out, just as her glossy lips began to utter words of adoration for the Almighty One, the cult of Obama.
  I'm a partisan; that's for sure. I can only evaluate through my conservative lens. I also despise scripted clap trap about how great someone is (Romney or Obama), repeated adoration of one's political party and stories designed to make people cry.
  There was some of that last week at the RNC; my objection to many of the speakers wasn't so much the above criticisms but the boringness of some of the political speakers who seemed very excited to be saying what they were saying where they were saying it but had little original or interesting to offer. 
  Bleh.
  The two stories about Mitt helping people were moving and enlightening; Ann Romney is obviously a great admirer of her husband and I enjoyed her speech. She seemed like an excited schoolgirl now and then.
  Most stirring were speeches by Ryan, by Rubio, by Mia Love, Artur Davis but above all, Condoleezza Rice when she talked about being a small girl not allowed to go to a movie theater rising to become Secretary of State. 
  The evenings were filled with inspiration and *HOPE*, positive and uplifting; Clint Eastwood's clever performance was a delight.
  Sorry, but I just didn't get that from last night's meeting, where the focus was so often abortion, what a monster Mitt Romney is because he's a successful businessman, how women *REALLY CAN* be successful (demeaning) and how perfect *BARACKOBAMA* is.
  Though surely the crowd loved it, Ted Strickland's mean-spirited nasty yelling had to be a lowlight. 
  It was the same ole, same ole, with the usual ramped up adoration of a man who is far from perfect and the demonization of anyone conservative.
  Then there were the outright lies: Democrats are the party of fiscal responsibility?
  These people are delusional.
  And now the Democrats are claiming the video that declares "we all belong to government" wasn't made by them! wasn't made by the DNC! wasn't made by Obama For America! Was made by the city of Charlotte. Or something. So just quit your "faux outrage," Mitt Romney.
  Does anyone think this is true? That the tightly scripted hours of last night had a movie sneak in that none of them knew about or endorsed?
  Claiming Republicans lie when many of your own complaints about them are complete lies is, well, a conundrum.

Will Debbie Wasserman Schultz Lose Her DNC Chair?

Even in an era of hyper partisanship Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a step above the run of the mill manic proselytizer. No one really took seriously her fanciful delusions that she peddled as sacred truths until yesterday. At last DWS attracted some serious attention and it may cost her her job as head of the DNC. If rumors are to be believed she was already destined to be put down after the election but now her immediate survival is in doubt. The gentle lady from Florida had been caught up in a lie and a pretty malicious lie at that. Schultz has been caught putting words he would have never uttered into the mouth of Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren. “We know, and I’ve heard no less than Ambassador Michael Oren say this, that what the Republicans are doing is dangerous for Israel” shrieked Schultz.
Ambassador Oren shot back: “I categorically deny that I ever characterized Republican policies as harmful to Israel. Bipartisan support is a paramount national interest for Israel, and we have great friends on both sides of the aisle,”

When confronted with that retort Schultz resorted to further lies.



“I didn’t say he said that and unfortunately, that comment was reported by a conservative newspaper. It’s not surprising they would deliberately misquote me. What I always say is that unfortunately the Republicans have made Israel a political football, which is dangerous for Israel. And Ambassador Oren has said that we can’t ever suggest that there is any daylight between the two parties on Israel because there isn’t. And that that’s harmful to Israel. That’s what I said, and that is accurate.”

But she did say that. The reporter from the conservative newspaper, Phillip Klein of the Washington Examiner had her on tape or iPhone or whatever.



Now Schultz has been caught misrepresenting an ambassador and a member of the media albeit only a conservative medium and her career path looks bumpy.

Israel Gets Its Dear John Letter

It's not to say that the Democratic Party has always been without principles but it does have a tendency to put personalities above principles. It's in the throes of one such episode now, the idolatry of Barack Obama. There was something very eerie and scary in the cult worship some of the more flamboyant groupies exhibited in 2008 with the songs and chants that tried to deify Barack Hussein Obama. Probably that paroxysm has abated but Obama has been able to put in place a cadre of true believers to preside over the destruction of what once was the champion of the liberal American values. Those values had been waning long before Obama. Probably George McGovern should get some credit for wrecking the party but Obama has taken it over the cliff. In practice the party has always been about personal financial fulfillment and it has been rife with corruption for more than a century but it at least tried to hold onto a sense of noble idealism. Obama demolished that facade. He has conducted a soviet style purge of the traditional friends of the party. Gone are Democrats for Life since abortion is now a right that trumps anything actually enumerated in the constitution. Gone are the blue collar Democrats. They were expendable. Gone is the Catholic Church; it would not bend to Obama's will. Yesterday Israel got its dear John letter. Team Obama broke an understanding that had endured 65 years and did it ruthlessly. It denies it did it. No one reads the party platform anyway. The personal disappointment some in the Democratic Party may have is apt to be mild compared to voter reaction in swing state Florida. Obviously this convention doesn't have the wants and aspirations of the independent voter in mind and it may pay an awful price for its neglect.



Dana Bash: I asked the DNC [why it omitted sections of its 2008 Israel plank from its 2012 platform] and we have an answer. And their answer was that they were simply following what the Obama administration’s policy is, and the White House said several months ago that the status of Jerusalem is an issue that should be resolved in the final status negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and that is why it is not in the platform as it was in 2008.
The question now is, can what remains of the Democrat Party put the party back together again after Obama is gone? Or has Obama damaged the party beyond repair in too many states and in too many constituency groups for it to come back in four years?

Obama's Popularity Tanks In Washington Post /ABC News Poll

I don't know if the latest Washington Post / ABC News poll is an outlier or the beginning of the end for Obama but it is harsh.

"Barack Obama approaches his nomination for a second term with the lowest pre-convention personal popularity of an incumbent president in ABC News/Washington Post polls since the 1980s. He’s also at his lowest of the year among registered voters, with trouble among women.

Just 47 percent of registered voters in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll see Obama favorably overall, down 7 percentage points from his recent peak in April, while 49 percent rate him unfavorably. He’s numerically underwater in this group for the first time since February.

The decline has occurred entirely among women registered voters – from 57-39 percent favorable-unfavorable in April to a numerically negative 46-50 percent now. That’s Obama’s lowest score among women voters – a focus of recent political positioning – in ABC/Post polls since he took office. Unusually, his rating among men, 50-47 percent favorable-unfavorable, is numerically better than it is among women, albeit not by a significant margin."

 

Gee, I thought his was the party that focused on women and now they go and do this to him.

The poll was conducted Aug. 29-Sept. 2, so all but a few of the respondents heard Romney's acceptance speech which may explain his increase in favorability but it doesn't explain Obama's decline. In an earlier WP/ABC poll Obama enjoyed a net 14 % favorability rating among all voters. That has now been reduced to just 4 percent.

Who is going to explain this to Sandra Fluke?

Sen. Dick Durbin Loses It On Fox News

It's been a long time since I've seen anyone come unhinged this quickly. The Democrat Party platform omits two words, "God" and "Jerusalem". When Bret Baier asks Senator Dick Durbin about why "God" was omitted the Senator goes into a tirade slightly reminiscent of Hillary Clinton's right wing conspiracy rant. Eventually Durbin mentions GOP super Pac donor Sheldon Adelson who is an ardent supporter of Israel. It's probably safe to assume the good senator has been getting an ear full from Jewish donors to his own party.

RNC Ad. Jimmy Carter Scolds Obama

This new RNC ad uses Jimmy Carter's to berate Barack Obama. For the record, from the American Bankruptcy Institute, there were 331,264 bankruptcies in 1980. In 2011 there were 1,410,653.

Since when is "Incomplete"a passing grade?

Well, I guess I missed this when I went to school. I was too stupid to figure out that if I didn't turn in my assignment or finish my test or complete my paper, all I needed to say is "Incomplete". There you go, now can I have another 4 years to finish my assignment? HUH? What kind of stupid crap is this?    
   Well we know that the "incomplete Card" has been played on the "Blame Bush" for the past 4 years. That use of the term means I know I said I was going to do a lot better than BUSH (who got us into this mess) but I'm not done blaming him yet, therefore my blame is "incomplete".
    The 2nd way of using the "Incomplete card " is the way HE can  portray the lack of fair share that "THOSE PEOPLE" pay in taxes to help the poor clueless people. The ability to somehow re-introduce this hatred and blaming people for not being good people and paying their FAIR SHARE ... they are...INCOMPLETE... but wait... he saved the best for last.

What a great idea. Anytime someone wants to know how I am doing.. it is either an A ... maybe an A- you know I kinda missed that one on the capital of Armenia. And then I might even appear to be even like a long distance runner and say B+ on something like RACE RELATIONS because you know, I only had one beer summit and we can all do better on loving one another can't we all ..see... even I gave myself as a white...I mean black... I mean  Christian... Muslin ... well you get the point  right. But the neat slick, almost as good as slick Willie (the 1st black president)  grade is the INCOMPLETE ... meaning   YOU NEED TO GIVE MEAN TIME TO COMPLETE MY JOB.
So all I would say to your self assessment is grade yourself on just one thing.

Quite a face the Dems are putting FORWARD

  Ok, so I was going to stop blogging for a while so I can get some stuff done but then this "emotional" video tribute comes on about Edward Kennedy, with lots of "moving" moments including a closing pic of him walking with a cane next to Barack Hussein Obama. From the rear.
  For some reason, no picture or story of the Chris Dodd/Teddy Kennedy waitress sandwich was included.
  Nor was there anything about Chappaquidick.  
  Gee, you'd think Teddy Kennedy never killed anybody. Sheesh.
  Nor was there anything about all the monkeying the Dodds and Kennedys did with loans to give everybody mortgages whether they could afford to pay them off or not.
  Then this singer comes out singing some "Forward" song that seems like she wrote just for the occasion. 
  I always thought Democrats would have better entertainment and singers than Republicans.
  Huh. Wrong about that.
  So far it's been a bunch of old losers like Reid, Pelosi, Jimmy Carter, Kennedy...
  Deep bench ya got there, bubs.
