Obama Trails Perry in Montana

It was never a swing state but Obama nearly pulled off an upset in Montana in 2008. He won't come close to that this time barring a monumental turnaround. In Montana Obama is so weak he trails Rick Perry by 3 percentage points and trails Mitt Romney by 10. Practically any Republican nominee would beat Obama. While Montana's three electoral votes won't make or break a candidate's bid for the White House the down ballot effect could prove troubling to Senator John Tester. Tester is more popular than his Republican opponent,
Denny Rehberg but could very easily lose. Obama's trouble with white voters is magnified in states such as Montana, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire that have large white voter populations. The Cook Political Report rates both Montana and Wisconsin's senatorial races as toss ups.

Really? Another vacation?

  It should be a relief to us that the worst president in the history of the United States and the worst jobs president who has done more to intentionally destroy jobs in the history of this country is going on vacation for another 17 days, frolicking in the warm sun and sands of Hawaii.
  Hawaii.
  Previous presidents often chose to stay at the White House for Christmas in consideration of the agents who are forced to be away from their families for Christmas.
  Last year it cost taxpayers at least $2 million; of course, they chose a place on the shore which meant additional dollars for ships to cover the coastline.
  And you'll remember Mrs. Obama's "early flight to Hawaii" which cost taxpayers an additional $63,000.
  SIXTY THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
  Remember the resentful demeanor of the Commander in Chief when he reluctantly appeared before the cameras long after the Christmas bomber was discovered on a plane to Detroit, disturbing his vacation and much needed rest?
  Now we learn he of the "all must sacrifice" mentality is going on yet another vacation.
  We hope he can't do any more damage to jobs while he's over there.
  On second thought, go now.

Occupiers are the ONE PERCENT

  If you were thinking that this administration's goal was bettering conditions in this country, you'll think again when you look at the people this administration has hired to perform their dirty work.
  Just take Van Jones, he of the "I'm a communist" and the most left winger imaginable, who was appointed by Obama and gushed about by Valerie Jarrett (We're really lucky to get him!) as green jobs czar.
  What's he up to now?
  Via Gateway Pundit, Van Jones, former administration employee, is intent on closing ports to this country.
  What purpose does this serve except to disrupt the lives of 99% of the people in this country who are anticipating Christmas, rushing about providing for their families?
  What purpose does it serve to leave huge piles of feces for the 99% workers to have to clean up, wearing hazmat suits?
  What purpose does it serve to block the businesses of small businesspeople?
  What purpose does it serve to try to destroy Wall Street, when most pension funds and life savings of the 99% are invested in Wall Street?
  It's a joke that the occupiers represent 99% of the people. 
  Few people share their morals, their goals or their beliefs.
  Certainly not their sanitary habits.
  Let's be realistic. The occupiers are the ONE PERCENT who hate this country, are envious of everything others have, are committed to anarchism and liberalism and among them are some of the filthiest most drug addled people in the country. 
  It's time we recognize that the occupiers are the 1%.

Is Gingrich "evil," pots ask?

  So imagine Republicans sat around and discussed who was "evil" in politics. Here we have Chris Matthews asking Bawney Fwank if he considers Newt Gingrich "evil."
  Remember when Reagan called the Soviet Union the "evil empire," and the scurry of shock and cluck clucking that ensued.
  And George W. Bush used the term "evil" and the media went wild. A number of left leaning wags, in fact, still call W. an "evildoer" in response to his labeling terrorists as evildoers.
  Do you remember the flurry and horror the press and the left exhibited when W. termed Iran, Iraq and North Korea as "the axis of evil," which they most definitely were/are?
  So Bawney Fwank, who famously claimed that Fannie and Freddie were "fundamentally sound," even though he engineered the breakdown of the housing market and who claimed he knew nothing about the prostitution ring being run out of his hahahouse, sanctimoniously says he's really reluctant to call Gingrich evil the way Matthews calls Gingrich evil. 
  The pot Fwank says with Gingrich there's a preponderance of "bad qualities."

All My Children Welfare Video

This woman has 15 children, twelve of them living with her and her response is " someone needs to be held accountable". Yes someone should exercise some responsibility but it seems the judge is the only one to do so. This video, although somewhat long sounds like a soap opera. Yeah "All My Children". If anyone has any doubts after watching this video that the present policy for rewarding irresponsibility, insolence, and sloth is wise or even humane they should think again.


 

8.6% unemployment numbers...NOT so rosy

  So the November unemployment numbers dropped in November to 8.6%, something which will provide fodder for Democrat operatives going into the Christmas season.
  Is anyone surprised that more people were employed for the holiday season?
  Every Kohl's, Lowe's, Arby's and drug store I've entered has a "now hiring" sign up at the front door.
  Employers need seasonal help.
  Yet jobless numbers increased. More people became discouraged and chose to no longer seek employment:
After a month of what looked to be a positive trend popping up for the American economy, jobless claims have once again surged above the 400,000 mark last week, halting hopes of a recovery from the recession. 
The US Labor Department announced on Thursday that the number of Americans filing for state benefits for the first time came in at around 402,000 for the week ending November 26, 2011, denoting a surge of 6,000 since the previous week, dousing what was thought to be a developing relief from the stagnant unemployment epidemic that has put jobless numbers nationwide at or above 9.0 percent for months upon months now.
  Now watch. Somehow the numbers will be revised next week, something that seems to be happening quite often now.
  Charts over at Zero Hedge:
Here are the four most important data points and charts from today's job report: the civilian labor force declined from 154,198 to 153,883, a 315K decline despite the civilian non-institutional population increased (as expected) from 240,269 to 240,441: always the easiest way to push down the unemployment rate. Percentage wise this was a drop from 64.2% to 64.0%: the lowest since back in 1983. Naturally, this would mean that the people not part of the labor force rose, and indeed they did by 487,000 to a record 86,558 from 86,071. This also means that more people are looking for a job: and indeed, the number of "Persons who want a job nowrose by 192K to a record 6.595 million. And lastly, confirming the behind the scenes disaster of the US jobless picture, the average duration of unemployment rose to a new record 40.9 weeks from 39.4 weeks previously. And that is your "improving" jobless picture in a nutshell.

Why Herman Cain's presidential run matters

   It's great to see college people actually stand up to the annoying "99%" cult chants. Don't these people get tired of their repetitive chants? Don't they get tired of following the crowd? (Ed. outrage: Why, in MY day, we valued our autonomy and shunned cults, whether political or religious.)
  Apparently the occupiers' grievance with Herman Cain in this video is "sexual abuse."
  With regard to the sex allegations against Herman Cain, something still does not sound right.
  Supposedly two anonymous women accused him. This came to nothing.
  Another woman with a pattern of filing sexual abuse claims accused him.
  Another woman, who wore official looking glasses to complement her blonde bimbo appearance, who happens to be desperate for money and attention and who laughed weirdly during the Allred press conference has just been evicted from her apartment. Money problems there too. 
  The current female accuser has a history of very bad erratic behavior.
White’s cash flow problems have followed her for years. In 2001, she filed for bankruptcy, and she has been sued numerous times for allegedly failing to pay rent, including nine times this year, most of them by Ashford Park Apartments in Dunwoody.
  So the accuser sends messages late at night or early in the morning, all apparently in a four month period, and it's reported that the two "exchanged" text messages in the wee hours of the night because eventually Cain responds.
  Was the time of Cain's response revealed?
  When the press claims she has nothing to gain, why don't they include the fact that these women have a history of financial problems, erratic behavior and legal grievances either filed by them or against them?
  The press knew for years about John Edwards' misbehavior.

Who is Ginger White? Well, she is a meagerly kept-woman with two children, who faced numerous evictions during the time she claimed Cain was paying her bills. 
Before she allegedly began her relationship with Mr. Cain, Ms. filed for bankruptcy. Since then she was involved in a sexual harassment suit.
White had other dealings with the court. Her former business partner, Kimberly Vay, sued her and accused Ms. White of stalking. The judge ruled against White and issued a protection order. 
  Stalking a former business partner? This is who we are relying on for a credible report?
  I'm trying to imagine why women who claim to have had affairs with a man feel comfortable saying that man isn't "fit to be president." 
  It's not that every guy you have an affair with should be presidential material, but what kind of person would you be if you DID  have an affair with someone who "lavished" you with gifts and money and then you ran to the press to inform them that you are contemptuous of him? He was worth calling for a loan but not of your respect?
  Frankly, Herman Cain's prospects for the presidency are dim or extinguished.
  On the surface, it would seem that tossing Cain out would benefit Republican candidates.
  This is not necessarily true.
  Rush speculated yesterday that perhaps Cain's presidential bid discomfited Obama and his people because he is competition in the Black presidential territory.
  This may be true but there's more at work here.
  Herman Cain, whatever his flaws, symbolizes what any Black American can become, given a good work ethic and a commitment to both education and excellence.
  Herman Cain is, in short, a threat to the Democrat machine which strives to keep Black Americans submissive to government handouts and union operatives, who, in many organizations, call the shots in a strict hierarchy communistic in nature.
  In reality, the government is working to destroy Black families, as Walter Williams 
says:
“[T]he welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery could not have done, the harshest Jim Crow laws and racism could not have done, namely break up the black family,” Williams said. “That is, today, just slightly over 30 percent of black kids live in two parent families. Historically, from 1870s on up to about 1940s, and depending on the city, 75 to 90 percent of black kids lived in two parent families. Illegitimacy rate is 70 percent among blacks where that is unprecedented in our history.”
  It's not that the White House has to take Herman Cain seriously as an opponent for the presidency.
  There's a more significant reason Cain's run is a threat to the White House and ultimately the Democrat party.
  Herman Cain represents the American Dream.
  By running as a successful Black businessman who is a Republican, he puts to rest the modern day resentments, racial grievances and class warfare that the Left holds onto so dearly because it represents the source of their power.
  The more dependent the people, the more power the Left has.
  This is why it is important that Herman Cain not be driven from the race for frivolous or untrue causes.
  Look what was done to Robert Bork during the Supreme Court hearings. Most now agree that Bork was eminently qualified to sit on the Supreme Court, yet this is what happened, from Wikipedia. Note that an author of Borking was none other than Joe Biden, who in recent years has acquired a reputation for being a harmless bumbler.
Within 45 minutes of Robert Bork's nomination to the Court, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) took to the Senate floor with a strong condemnation of Bork in a nationally televised speech, declaring, 
"Robert Bork's America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens' doors in midnight raids, schoolchildren could not be taught about evolution, writers and artists could be censored at the whim of the Government, and the doors of the Federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens."[2]  
A brief was prepared for Joe Biden, head of the Senate Judiciary Committee, called the Biden Report. Bork later said in his best-selling[3] book The Tempting of America that the report "so thoroughly misrepresented a plain record that it easily qualifies as world class in the category of scurrility."[4] TV ads narrated by Gregory Peck attacked Bork as an extremist, and Kennedy's speech successfully fueled widespread public skepticism of Bork's nomination. The rapid response of Kennedy's "Robert Bork's America" speech stunned the Reagan White House; though conservatives considered Kennedy's accusations slanderous,[1] the attacks went unanswered for two and a half months.[5] 
 It began with Bork, it accelerated into maniacal depths with Sarah Palin and now Herman Cain.
  Is it conceivable that Cain had a history of affairs?
  Of course.
  But is it also conceivable that nefarious individuals could find 4 (or more) unstable, useful idiots in a population of over 300 million people who would be willing to go on camera and claim Cain is untrustworthy to be president?
  Of course.
  Of all the candidates, Cain represents the greatest threat to the White House and the Democrat party because of his belief in this country, his independence, his sense of business opportunity and his rise to success in a country so peopled with supposed racists and lack of opportunity for minorities.
  The fact that he's still standing is remarkable.

Republican Learn How To Run Cheap Campaigns

The current Republican primary is not setting spending records. The top nine Republican candidates spent $53 million through September, compared with $132 million spent at the same time four years ago. The sum is even lower than the 2004 and 2000 primaries. They have learned how to play the main stream media. First, there are the many debates that allow even an under funded Newt Gingrich to run at the head of the pack with only travel and staff expenses. Then there are the web ads. The campaigns only have to pay for the production costs. Then the ads are promoted on Twitter and FaceBook. The mainstream media finds the better ads entertain as well as inform their viewers so they run them on their news programs for free. Herman Cain's smoking, campaign manager, Mark Block was the most talked about ad made this entire primary campaign but Cain spent $0. on television.

Senator Sherrod Brown compares criticism of Craig Becker who was nominated for a slot on the NLRB to McCarthyism. So what if he did work with ACORN and the Service Workers International Union? Youngstown State Will Offer A Minor In Drilling Tech

Responding to the drilling boom in Ohio's Utica Youngstown State plans to offer a minor in gas technologies. It will be a better buy than a $30,000 masters degree in puppetry as one OWS protestor bought. From Vindy Com;


YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University plans a Natural Gas and Water Resources Institute as part of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. A discussion about the new institute is on the agenda for Thursday’s board of trustees’ Academic Quality and Student Success Committee meeting. An announcement about the initiative is also expected this morning.YSU proposes a series of courses that would lead to a minor in gas technologies. The minor would be comprised of a series of existing courses from throughout the STEM programs, supplemented by select new courses needed to address specific issues outside the current curriculum.The institute is to come before the full trustees board at a meeting Dec. 14 with approval of the minor in gas technologies from the Academic Senate requested in April and the first YSU graduates earning the designation in May 2013.

Steve McIntyre Blasts Michael Mann the Flimflam Man

The leaked emails in Climategate 2.0 have dealt another slap shot to Al Gore's famous hockey stick. For those unfamiliar with the controversy surrounding this fraud let me set the background. In order to make the case for global warming its proponents had to disprove the historically documented "medieval warming period." During that time the Vikings colonized Greenland and farmed it. Vineyards flourished in far north Scotland. If it was warmer 500 years ago than it is today the global warming experienced in the last 150 years is hardly an aberration.

There are no temperature date for the middle ages so the theory that growth rings from thousand year old trees could be used as proxies for temperature data was developed. The wider the tree ring; the warmer the climate so the theory went. All went well until the temperature date from the 1960's onward was compared to the temperature reconstructions showed that as actual temperature increased the tree rings got narrower. University of Pennsylvania professor Michael Mann got around this by splicing real temperature data to the tree ring temperature proxies to "hide the decline." Now Steve McIntyre of Climate Audit says this academic fraud is worse than we thought. Mann and company deleted tree ring data from 1940 on and covered up by producing a disingenuous chart. The extreme upward trend in the 1990's is actual temperature data. It is the red line. Notice that the temperature from the proxies do not spike upward.


Don't Bet The Family (Wind) Farm On Clean Energy

One of the questions I would like to see asked at one of Obama's town halls is what the hell he intends to do about the 14,000 abandoned windmills that now litter the nation's landscape. As tax subsidies expired utilities walked away from these Chinese bird choppers. No they don't produce cheap electric power. Local rate payers, who are the real losers in this green scheme, looked askance at the idea of paying more for undependable power from the beginning. Their worst fears have been confirmed in spades. They had to pay higher electrical bills to pay for the new wind turbines and now they will be saddled with the cost of their removal. Meanwhile the country's electrical grid has become increasingly stressed as conventional power generation investments were misdirected to a green energy solution that doesn't work.

“There are many hidden truths about the world of wind turbines from the pollution and environmental damage caused in China by manufacturing bird choppers,” noted environmental blogger Tory Aardvark in a recent post about wind farms, also citing the dangerous noise produced by turbines. He added,

"The symbol of Green renewable energy, our savior from the non existent problem of "Global Warming," abandoned wind farms are starting to litter the planet as globally governments cut the subsidies taxes that consumers pay for the privilege of having a very expensive power source that does not work every day for various reasons like it’s too cold or the wind speed is too high." He calls the 14,000 plus windmills symbols of a “dying Climate Religion.”

Newt, The Donald and Chris Christie have in common....

  It's amusing the way the news media is clucking in astonishment that Newt has taken the lead among Republican candidates, who all face claims that they're inferior and unworthy of the office of the presidency.
  Few seem able to understand why Newt is running ahead; fingers are pointed at the very flawed life of the man, just as those fingers were pointed at the ridiculous prospect of Donald Trump being elected president.
  These media types just don't get it; they make their proclamations from lofty perches, apparently unable to see what is so appealing to the voters about these two guys.
  (Herman Cain was equally popular for a time for the same reason but now has to spend all his time warding off accusations of infidelity and lechery.)
  So for y'all who don't get it, in both parties and the media, get a clue.
  Those candidates who are willing to take the risk of talkin' back to the pompous popinjay Narcissus we have in office now are rising because we're sick and tired of hope and change platitudes.
  We're sick and tired of being lied to.
  We're sick and tired of the hypocrisy of pandering to the Hollywood rich, all while claiming the "millionaires and billionaires" are the root of all evil.
  We're sick and tired of being called names.
  We're sick and tired of excuses and blaming everyone but himself.
  We're sick and tired of repeated insults to this great country.
  We're sick and tired of policies that directly and negatively affect employment in this country.
  We're sick and tired of golf, parties and fiddlin' being priorities.
  We're sick and tired of a Republican party that values seniority, watercress sandwiches and milquetoast uncertainty.
  We're sick and tired of a Democrat party whose foundations are built on sand, greed and dollar bills.
  Then again, we're just plain sick and tired of politics.
  Donald Trump, Newt and Chris Christie get in the popinjay's face, telling the truth and stirring things up, unlike so many politicians who seem to be just recycling the same old lines.
  Speak the truth. 
  Go after him and his ilk like you care about this country with the same urgency many of us feel.

Occupy LA revealed...

  It becomes apparent, by now, that the occupiers want anything but good for this country. Despite the saccharin claims of left wingers who insist that despite the movement's ties to Soros, the Tides Foundation and various left wing anarchist movements, this is truly a grass roots, patriotic, economic fairness  movement who only want a better America.
  Really?
  If they wanted a better America, you'd think they'd take care of their own little part of America.

The reek of urine and unwashed bodies hung over the former Occupy Los Angeles camp Wednesday as masked sanitation workers hauled away 25 tons of debris from the barren lawns around City Hall. 
Collapsed and overturned tents, scattered bedding, paperback books, bicycles, shoes, food and other belongings were tossed by shovel or pitchfork into trash trucks after a small army of police peacefully swarmed the nearly two-month encampment. City officials who had tolerated the economic protest for weeks had finally declared the area a health and safety hazard earlier in the week.

"It's so contaminated, it doesn't even make sense to sort it out," said Jose "Pepe" Garcia, 49, superintendent of the city's north central sanitation district.

  The Mercury news reporter interviews an occupant who wasn't there when the  hazmat team showed up and consequently lost all her belongings. 
  Her area was very clean and neat, the occupant claimed, and some people even swept the sidewalks every day! 
  She's circumspect about the loss of her tent and stuff, saying they were only material goods, which is the first time any occupier has been quoted as not really valuing material goods.
  Of course, if this had been New York, loud wails would have set up about the loss  of their "5,000-volume People's Library housed at the park," no matter how much fecal matter soaked its pages.
  Watch what they do, not what they say, Mother used to warn.
  Indeed.

Penn State's Lysenko

Donald A. Brown is an Associate Professor Environmental Ethics, Science, and Law at Penn State University. He authored the notice I reproduced in an earlier post. In that brief notice Brown proposed "an ethical analysis of the climate change disinformation campaign". "We will examine whether this is a new kind of crime against humanity?" This is how the people of Pennsylvania spend their tax dollars? Environmental ethics, science, and law covers a lot of ground. I could could forgive a professor of melting glaciers. With a major in polar bears and a minor in bi-polar bears one might earn a phd in sinking islands but what prepares a generalist in environmental ethics, science and law? And what kind of ethics and law envisions a world where one's intellectual opponents are demonized and prosecuted for crimes against humanity. In the Stalinist USSR there lived a man very much like professor Brown. His name was Trofim Lysenko.

Lysenko was a mediocre agronomist but a master at politics. He developed a process he called vernalization and wrapped a Hegelian dialectical materialism fairy tale around it to produce a politically correct science. His theory of environmentally acquired inheritance had political appeal to Marxists when applied to men. A man was the product of his environment so in the "thesis-antithesis-synthesis" Hegelian gobbledygook both man and wheat production fared well in the communist state. Lysenko's vernalization process consisted of wetting the wheat and submerging it in a snow bank. This process was known to the scientific community as pre germination and was a clever way to get an early harvest but did nothing to improve the wheat of its fundamental weaknesses. Hence instead of developing more productive strains of wheat the Soviet Union wasted decades, doing no meaningful research. He rejected Mendelian inheritance out of hand. Hitler had given eugenics a very bad name in his effort to produce a master race and there was a willingness in the political class to damn eugenics. Lysenko went further. He damned eugenicists. His theory prevailed not by the power of his intellect but by the power of his coercion. Very brutal coercion! Scientific dissent from Lysenko's theories of environmentally acquired inheritance was formally outlawed in 1948, and for the next several years opponents were purged from held positions, and many imprisoned. After years of crop failure and the death of Stalin and the removal of Nikita Khrushchev Lysenko fell from grace. In 1964, physicist Andrei Sakharov spoke out against Lysenko in the General Assembly of the Academy of Sciences:

"He is responsible for the shameful backwardness of Soviet biology and of genetics in particular, for the dissemination of pseudo-scientific views, for adventurism, for the degradation of learning, and for the defamation, firing, arrest, even death, of many genuine scientists."

Fortunately for us professor Donald A. Brown is bereft of Lysenko's political acumen. He is not dangerous only because he is not powerful. Because he is politically inept we are safe but make no mistake, there are many on the left who would use coercion to win a scientific argument. As Justice Robert Jackson wrote, " Those who begin coercive elimination of dissent soon find themselves exterminating dissenters. Compulsory unification of opinion achieves only the unanimity of the graveyard."

ATF Retaliates Against Fast & Furious Whistle Blowers

It seems the Obama administration in general, and Eric Holder in particular, has a penchant for overplaying its increasingly weak hand. After Senator Chuck Grassley warned the DOJ against retaliating against the Fast and Furious whistle blowers DOJ did indeed retaliate. Special Agent John Dodson was assigned to desk duty and eventually transferred to South Carolina. He can no longer get into the main ATF office with his security pass. In Phoenix he was isolated and referred to as a "nut job," "wing-nut" and "disgruntled."
Other agents found themselves demoted, reassigned, and generally floating in career dead zones. In fairness to Holder we should remember that he doesn't read his emails so maybe when he has read about these illegal and unwise moves in the newspapers, which seem to be his sole source of information on Fast and Furious, he will get around to redressing these wrongs.
