Wow. There are quite a few very exciting conservative presidential candidates for 2012. Several of the best have vowed not to run since they have been newly elected to office. These candidates include, not in any special order:

We know thatcountries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

This is why it is totally unacceptable when Republicans take cheap shots at Palin.  You want to criticize her positions, experience, electability, etc., that's fair game.  But cheap, mocking shots will get you nowhere, and will cause a schism in the Republican party the likes of which you have never seen.  And, yes, I mean you Barbara Bush and Chris Christie.

  Straight from the toupee horse's mouth. Muslim women do not have to remove their head gear. Instead they will be allowed to check their own head gear, run their hands over it and then TSA will test for bomb making residue.

Anarchists protest in London

  Here they go again. The news media, including Fox, are reporting that "students" are violently protesting in the streets of London. By now, it's not too hard to figure out that what may have started as a peaceful protest deteriorates rapidly as the anarchists move in with their masks and their eagerness to destroy belongings.
  It's also not too hard to figure out that these people have no purpose in life but to protest capitalism in their desire to establish socialism and communism around the world. Where they gets their money apparently is yet to be revealed.
  Here's a post from their "work" in Ontario, Canada. Note the pride in work, note the casual disregard for anybody's rights by theirs.
  So here's the reality over at the Daily Mail:

It was supposed to be a day of peaceful protest, with students exercising their democratic right to demonstrate against soaring university fees.

But anarchists hijacked the event, setting off the most violent scenes of student unrest seen in Britain for decades. Militants from far-Left groups whipped up a mix of middle-class students and younger college and school pupils into a frenzy.

  Mind you, the issue is a tripling of college tuition to $14,000 yearly.
  Are these people serious?
  Is everything a right now?
  Yeah. Guess so.
  So who's going to actually work.

On delusions, priorities and DWTS

  While it has been posited that the Left is pretty delusional at times (Michelle O knows how to dress, Obama is smart, so smart you're stupid if you don't realize it, we need to partner with the TSA), some extreme examples are emerging that are somewhat, well, disturbing.
  A week or so ago, some doofus shot his tv up because he was really mad that Bristol Palin kept winning in Dancing With The Stars. (In an act of extreme mercy, Sarah Palin offered to buy him a new one.) So this 67 year old guy gets so involved in the show that he shoots the tv and then aims the gun at his wife. They claim he's bipolar.
  Then the hysteria went further and broke out on the Left that it was unfair, I tell ya, UNFAIR that the terrible Bristol should be winning this much. The hysteria peaked last night when the ABC website crashed; even the old army and marine guys had a crusade that we all should vote for Bristol, not because we 
1) cared about the show   
2) had seen the show  
3) thought Bristol was really good   
4) thought Bristol should win   
5) loved Sarah Palin but 
RATHER because we'd like to watch the Left's heads explode (in a figurative, rather than literal, way. 
  (Please. Don't exaggerate, as usual.)
  So everyone's voting like crazy. Hillbuzz, those priceless true hearts, had a thread going that everyone was excoriating. Why? Because the thread encouraged everyone to vote for Bristol.
  So today, the RELIGION EDITOR (Sally Quinn, who never met a Washington power broker party she didn't like) claims that it is unholy that Bristol should have gotten as far as she has. 
  Quinn's in hysterics. She's crying. (No, really. And she actually admits that her favorite story about DWTS is this stupid guy who shot up his tv. ) 
  She's claiming people cheated, people who claim to be patriotic CHRISTIANS... and HOW COULD THEY CHEAT? 
  Read this at WaPo:

The final straw was when Brandy - a fabulous dancer -- was eliminated last week.....We were having a dinner party and I made my guests leave the table to watch the final half of DWTS. Norman Lear was with us. Norman is not a DWTS follower but got caught up in the moment too. As the music started and I waited breathlessly to see Bristol be told she was out. I was squeezing Norman's hand when Brandy, not Bristol, was sent home. I couldn't believe it. Neither could the judges and studio audience. Derek  and Jennifer's mouths dropped open. Boos could be heard.

It seemed Bristol and her partner were just as surprised. Brandy cried. I have to confess I teared up. It just didn't seem right.

 Read the whole thing. It's judgmental. It's hysterical. It's irrational. It's, well, it's head exploding. (Heh. Sorry.)
  This is unholy?

  With all the evil in the world you determine THIS is unholy?

  Have you never watched one of these shows? I confess we caught some of American Idol last year. 
  Everybody knew that Adam Lambert was the better performer. He was fabulous. His vocal range was marvelous, spectacular, amazing.
  That other guy, the Kris guy, wasn't a Las Vegas type performer the way Lambert is. 
  But, um, the problem was that lots of people didn't actually like Adam Lambert.
  And a lot of people really liked the Kris guy.
  That's the way these shows work.
  It isn't cheating if the show arranges that you can fake email addresses.
  It isn't cheating if you can vote 5 times.
  It isn't cheating if you actually like the person you're voting for, even if you think she can't dance.
  Quinn herself admitted she has SIX phones in the house and she voted on all of them.
  But she viewed as cheating the fact that the show allows people to vote as often as they please and that people, those tea party folks, go ahead and do it. 
  Um. Follow the rules. Go by the guidelines. Do what it takes (according to the guidelines) to win. 
  Because tea partiers have morals, are patriotic, follow the rules, they shouldn't employ the traditional methods of the rest of the public.
  Hm.
  This reminds me of another incident.
  Here's this family. They want the deals, the Black Friday deals. The tvs. The stereos. So nine days before the sale, they decided to camp out in front of Best Buy. Just wait.
  For what? For a tv? For a stereo?
  This is delusional. This is a waste. This is a waste of energy. 
  I want to ask. What's wrong with you, that you can't deal with these small things? What's wrong with you, that you can't be realistic about the world and its games? What's wrong with you that you want the deal so much that you'd sacrifice precious moments of your life for...stuff? 
  Meaningless...stuff.
  What's wrong with you, that you have standards for one group of people and not for another. 
  What's...wrong....with....you....

Gore admits: I blew tax dollars because I was running for president

  Why is Al Gore admitting now that he supported ethanol even though he knew it was wrong?

"One of the reasons I made that mistake is that I paid particular attention to the farmers in my home state of Tennessee, and I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president."

  This subsidy for corn is 7.7 billion dollars. But he was running for president, so he wanted the votes and supported it. Reuters has the quotes. 
  So why did Gore let his Chicago climate exchange fold? Hm. Corner:

Global warming-inspired cap and trade has been one of the most stridently debated public policy controversies of the past 15 years. But it is dying a quiet death. In a little reported move, the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) announced on Oct. 21 that it will be ending carbon trading – the only purpose for which it was founded – this year.

It's pretty apparent at this point that it's all about me-me-me. How many other tax dollars are spent on more of the me-me-me crowd? 

Popular Mechanics: Scanners won't catch anybody

  A Popular Mechanics interview with a terrorism expert reveals that the scanners won't do anything. It's all theater. The inventors themselves say the scanners, which are owned by former Homeland Security chief Chertoff, wouldn't have caught the underwear bomber. Now TSA officials are bragging that almost a year later, they've got this new thing of feeling everyone and running everyone through the magic scanners.

Health care falls apart

  Well, as we knew it would, health care is falling apart, even as we watch these last few months. Insurance companies are raising rates or merging, new restraints and conditions are being discovered in the bill, medicines and treatments are already being restricted by the let's-not-call-them-death-panels-let's-call-it-government crowd and it's becoming increasingly apparent to almost everyone that this is Obama's Waterloo. Over at Washington Examiner:

The New York Times reports there is a "growing frenzy of mergers" in the health care field in which hospitals and other care providers, pressured by the new law's provisions, are joining forces to save money. "Consumer advocates fear that the health care law could worsen some of the very problems it was meant to solve," the paper reports, "by reducing competition, driving up costs and creating incentives for doctors and hospitals to stint on care, in order to retain their cost-saving bonuses."

The Obama administration's answer to the problem will undoubtedly be more regulation. But the wave of mergers is just one of many signs of trouble with the new law.

Rolling out the cavity searches and prosthetic limbs

  Well, all we have to do is say it and it's true. TSA is confiscating video cameras when people film what they are doing and now the head of the TSA is saying that body cavities are what the terrorists are trying to use to blow up planes.
  And how is that relevant to me, er, us?
  I'm sorry?
  What'd you say?
  You CAN'T be serious!
  And since they are thinking of using prosthetic limbs, will everyone have to remove theirs?

Fight the man! Vote for Bristol

  Well, the big thing tonight among those of us who are non-conformist anti-establishment long haired freaks is that we are all voting for Bristol Palin, even though most of us have never before seen DWTS. 
  You can text votes, register emails and vote and call in votes. It's pretty funny, as some bloggers which shall go unnamed are doing it to make liberals' heads explode, as they seem to be taking all this very personally. Heh. Anywho ABC's website seems to be malfunctioning. One might think it is overwhelmed, at least where the Bristol Palin vote is concerned.

Pollster: you're pretty damn stupid

  Well, now we know what they think.
  Honestly, it's good to get it out in the open, but it's sure depressing that you can't have an opinion opposite the experts and thus be determined stupid.
  It's sure depressing that unless you think monolithically with the intelligent people, you're stupid.
  It's sure depressing that this is what a $200,000 education buys: a belief that you're better than everyone else and that anyone who doesn't follow the same set of rules you and your politically correct cult follow is stupid.
  So who's the drone here? Who's the conformist, you hippie freaks? Who's the one touting the company line, succumbing to the influence of The Man?
  It ain't me, babe.

  Washington Examiner:

So Franklin answered with considerable authority when he was asked, at a recent forum on the November 2 election results, why Republicans emerged victorious in so many races.  "I'm not endorsing the American voter," Franklin said.  "They're pretty damn stupid."

Franklin was responding to a question from Bill Lueders, news editor of Isthmus, a weekly alternative newspaper in Madison, Wisconsin.  In an account published Thursday (H/T Ann Althouse), Lueders says he asked Franklin why "the public seemed to vote against its own interests and stated desires, for instance by electing candidates who'll drive up the deficit with fiscally reckless giveaways to the rich."

Living in a politically correct country

  The subject is the TSA. It's been the TSA for the past week, the story muffled the weeks before. There is no other story right now, as people hash out what is acceptable and what is not in government intrusion into our daily lives.
  In a way, that's good because at least we are having the conversation.
  On one hand, you have a few millionaires saying, "Please! Tax us more!" inviting more government into their lives.
  And that's fine. Tax yourselves. Nothing is restricting you rich guys from writing extra checks for the government. Let's be honest. What they REALLY mean is "Tax everybody who makes a lot of money more," thereby taking the decision away from the resistant rich guys. 
  But touching people's genitals in the airport, being callous about physical conditions, discriminating against those who have implants by examining them every time but not profiling a national from a country whose 19 citizens attacked this country on 9/11...these actions touch the hearts of people because they affect our daily lives.
  Most of us aren't millionaires.
  Most of us have no authority over The Lives of Others.
  Most of us bear no ill will toward those whose countries oppose ours.
  But this, THIS is ridiculous.
  It's been almost a year since the underwear bomber tried to take down a plane flying into Detroit.
  After it happened, Big Sis claimed, "The system worked" because citizens on board the plane tackled him and beat him down, not because any of HER systems had worked.
  Now we're supposed to be thankful because, almost a year later, Big Sis decides that feeling everyone's underwear is going to make a difference.
  First. What took you so long?
  Second. Are you serious?
  Is it UNDERWEAR that's the problem here?
  Is it BOX CUTTERS or 4 oz bottles of SHAMPOO?
  It's the PEOPLE who are the problem. It's PEOPLE who want to kill us, not underwear.
  What's next? 
  If someone hides a weapon in his butt, do we then examine everyone's, excepting a few that Big Sis ordains as uncapable of committing crimes?
  If someone hides a weapon in the baby's blanket, do we manhandle every baby to make sure there are no weapons?
  Slowly the vice is tightening and more and more restrictions are put into place every time there's another attempt.
  The answer is to profile. Ask questions. Profile behavior. Look questionable people in the eyes and talk to them. Verify where they've been. Take some of that money we pay the TSA and put 2 air marshals on board. Every plane. Don't waste resources.
  So while Big Sis mulls whether to EXEMPT Muslim women from these procedures (has no Muslim woman flown since the new policy was enacted? Why are we not hearing this?), the rest of us are treated like criminals.

  We knew this was just around the corner, when we heard all the stories about how "we" aren't changing policy even though the public is outraged, how "we" aren't tolerating dissent, how "we" need to work toward "partnership," how "we" need to understand the clarity of "our" mission.
  They told us if Republicans were in charge, we would be living in a police state. They told us if conservatives were in charge, our rights would be forfeited.
  And here we go. Our rights forfeited. The police state.
  In liberal land, where this behavior is, now, apparently the new normal.
  Cameras are being confiscated now, the natural next step to preserving the police state. The natural next step in quelling public argument. Rather than let witnesses record the outrages taking place in airports around the country, the TSA is confiscating cameras even though there is no policy against it. And why would or should there be, if you're not doing anything wrong, TSA?

Most incredible TSA story yet

HA~ Must be read to be believed! Over at Red State.

Ruling class: why are the little people upset about government approved genital groping?

  Wow. 
  The TSA is really making a mess of this. 
  And is this incident is an example of what we have to look forward to when we fly out of DTW, because that is where this latest outrage takes place. Article over at MSNBC:

A retired special education teacher on his way to a wedding in Orlando, Fla., said he was left humiliated, crying and covered with his own urine after an enhanced pat-down by TSA officers recently at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

“I was absolutely humiliated, I couldn’t even speak,” said Thomas D. “Tom” Sawyer, 61, ofLansing, Mich.

  The story goes on and it becomes quite obvious that the TSA agents are remarkably unconcerned about their behavior toward this human being, who suffers enough from his medical condition. Read it.
  The ruling class seems oblivious to the offense caused by unknown agents touching people's genitals and humiliating flyers by being cavalier regarding medical conditions, calling the intrusions "love pats," which only makes their positions on these policies that much more repulsive and offensive.
  And where is the professional left in this? Wasn't there a great deal of outrage when 3, repeat THREE, terrorists were water boarded, yielding information? And wasn't there a great deal of outrage when the Patriot Act went into place? Where are they now?
  Combine this with some of the other horror stories from reputable people:

• blogging mommy, who had every part of her anatomy touched by TSA
• a woman with artificial knees whose genitals were groped
• a woman forced to remove her prosthetic breast
• a woman who felt she was targeted for wearing a skirt, her genitals felt twice
• pilots are refusing both procedures, for themselves and their children
• What about the radiation?
• A young woman's breasts allegedly were openly exposed by TSA agents
• A screaming 3 year old child is hand searched
• and, of course, the don't touch my junk guy

  Even if these stories were all exaggeration, hyperbole and hysteria, the TSA has a problem and, as usual for the Obama administration, doesn't seem to be interested in easing the public's fears, considering as significant the anxiety the TSA is causing not only the public but the airline industry, or considering any rights we have as Americans.
  Rather than address these issues reasonably, instead we get more gestapo tactics and talk. Here is John Pistole's response, when asked if he will moderate the measures he has put into place? What we get is a cocky, self-assured toupee wearing SOB boasting that this is the best method, even though behavior profiling has been proven superior in all cases.
  Other countries are laughing at us, but Pistole says he's just trying to keep the public "informed," even while softening his tone using Newspeak by saying we need a "partnership," to establish these safety methods. ArsTechnica:

Pistole said he "understood" the concern (and he added that children under 12 weren't subject to the enhanced pat-down). When one senator asked if this "understanding" meant changes were coming, Pistole was direct. "Am I going to change the policies? No."

  So these "love pats" will continue, but rest assured that Obama says he "understands" why people are upset, even though, yuk yuk, he and his cohorts will never have to go through these humiliating experiences.
  Does it help to know that concerns about YOUR privacy were built in when they decided on the policies? Yup.

  (Imagine this. TSA agent runs her hands slowly up the thighs and over the genitals of a coach passenger named.....Michelle Obama. Ha! Would we ever see that TSA agent's hand again? Or the agent?) 
  Add to this outrage the fact that Michael Chertoff had a financial interest in promoting these abominations, not to mention George Soros, who sure knows when to get out when the gettin' is good, and you have a major scandal, nationwide, with no one in charge appearing to be interested in the perception of it or addressing the concerns to the satisfaction of the public.
  Can you say ruling class, anyone? (I might add the linked article was posted on this blog in June, before the phrase was buzzed.)
  More video will be emerging in the coming days; whatcha wanna make a bet the TSA is going to say all cell phones and video cameras have to be powered down before you go through?

Black farmers lawsuit fraud payout moves forward

  Well, it looks like the lame duck Senate has passed that fraud of a Pigford black farmers lawsuit. This is a case where many more "farmers" than existed at the time have claimed bias in farming, without requiring any proof whatsoever. Here's an excerpted blurb Nation Legal and Policy Center has about the case; much more over there:

As National Legal and Policy Center noted this March, the case has been a hustle from the start. The claims were based on an inconclusive consultant's report in the mid Nineties prepared at the behest of then-Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman and on an even less credible lawsuit filed in 1997 by a black North Carolina farmer named Timothy Pigford. That suit eventually gained class-action status. Plaintiffs' lawyers managed to convince the USDA into resolving claims through blanket rather than case-by-case mediation. In April 1999, U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman, a Clinton appointee, approved a consent decree that allowed black farmers a choice between "Track A" and "Track B" financial settlements. The overwhelming majority chose Track A, which made them eligible for relief of $50,000 per family plus exemption from outstanding loans and tax liability. Yet neither Pigford nor co-plaintiff Cecil Brewington had cited any specific cases of racial discrimination in USDA credit or grant programs. None of the thousands of plaintiffs were required to show evidence of discrimination. Some of the "farmers" had never farmed in their lives. And if this can be believed, the number of potential claimants has jumped to at least 80,000, remarkable feat of class-action recruitment considering that the 2007 U.S. Census of Agriculture counted fewer than 33,000 black-owned farms in this country.

  This payout has been waiting for a long time, hiding in the shadows waiting for a lame duck moment. Big Government has the scoop on Shirley Sherrod's involvement. The Senate approved a 4.5$ BILLION payout to the Native Americans' lawsuit, in addition to the black farmers.
  Grievances all around. Payouts all around. PayBACK all around.

TSA Exemption: pilots

And with good reason, pilots will be exempted from the intrusive TSA examinations. ABC:

U.S. airline pilots learned today that they'll be exempt from the invasive x-ray screening and pat-downs that have sparked a revolt across the country.

  Here's the thing. 
  This is just like the beginning of the whole health care debacle. 
  They start exempting groups of people, one by one, depending on their submission and closeness to the administration, basically admitting that their health care plan is a nightmare to which people should not be submitted.
  Now the pilots are exempt. Who would want to submit to this radiation daily, regardless of how safe the government says it is.
  Next will be the attendants. Same deal.
  Then....the Muslim women.
  Are they already exempted from the health care plan?
  Then.
  What's the point?
  Meanwhile, submit or pay.

Go naked to the airport day announced!

  While admittedly the new patdown searches are outrageous and while we ALL know that behavioral profiling is a much more effective way to figure out who the terrorists are, there might be a point to recall that the TSA people who have been trained to do the patdowns are probably just doing their jobs. 

  Ron Paul has introduced a bill to file charges against TSA agents for assault, which is probably pretty stupid, considering they're doing the job the Obama administration has taught them to do and many TSA agents are retired military anyway. 

  I've met some REALLY rude TSA agents, but the majority have been cooperative and pleasant, except for the one who grumpily waved me away from the metal detector when I pulled out keys from my pocket which I had forgotten to remove, thus revealing to everyone around that the dang metal detector wasn't even on. 

  NRO Corner:

We see the same “kick the bureaucrat” thing in immigration — whether it’s overwhelmed Border Patrol agents or inspectors, or visa officers and USCIS adjudicators told to ignore fraud, it’s the hapless schmo carrying out the ridiculous policies of his superiors who gets blamed. The fish rots from the head down, and that’s where our ire, and our policy changes, have to be focused.

  The people who are running the TSA and Homeland Security have proven themselves to be arrogant and unresponsive. John Pistole on O'Reilly last night is just like all the rest of them. Lying to himself and to us.

  Still, some criticize that Drudge is the one who's ginning up the opposition to this by posting every link to every incident possible. Interesting, probably true but irrelevant?

  More evidence is emerging that whispers from the White House are revealing that Obama is in over his head, unhappy, freaking over his "enemies," incapable of handling criticism and, well, you get the picture. 

  Apparently Joe Biden's thesis that The One Who Will Turn Back the Tides is just too brilliant for Planet Bimbo isn't sitting so well with the whisperers, who just may resent being sent to the back seat (heh) for at least the next two years.

  Scarborough, Hannity and the mysterious Ulsterman. Very interesting that Ulsterman predicted Gibbs would be out of the door next and yesterday that is exactly what was being reported on talk radio. 

  Ulsterman is also reporting the big scandal is probably not going to happen with this White House because someone cut a deal in there to keep Pelosi as leader, and she has the goods on them. Eh, who knows.

  More voter irregularities, including complaints from Alaska. My take: if Joe is just doing this to drag out the process, he should give it up. If there really were irregularities, he needs to keep it up and root to the bottom of the mess. This is over at NRO:

“Our campaign has sworn affidavits identifying unsecured ballot boxes, other precincts where numerous ballots appear to be in the same handwriting, others where there is 100 percent voter turnout and still other precincts where the ballots were sent to the Division of Elections presorted by U.S. Senate candidate,” said Miller spokesman Randy DeSoto in a statement. “These and other irregularities give our campaign pause. Alaskans must be able to trust the results of its elections.”

  Speaking of voting irregularities (propose and pass a voter integrity law, House of Rep!), take a look at what is going on over in New York. Geez, why is it that all these accusations always go back to dems? ALWAYS. Professor Jacobsen has the tale of the missing and reappearing trunks:

Traditionally Republican, the State Senate moved over to the Democrats in 2008, giving Democrats complete control of both houses of the state legislature and the Governor's office for the first time since the New Deal.

In the 2010 mid-terms, however, Republicans made a comeback, and are on the verge of taking back the State Senate.  This will have important implications for redistricting.

There are a small number of contested races, however.  One of those races is in Buffalo, NY, in which the Republican is leading.

During the recount process, Democrats did not just find new ballots, they found two new voting machines: 

  On to the whole Bristol Palin "controversy." Never watched the show. Probably have to vote on Monday, though, due to all the nastiness surround Bristol, who has admitted all along that she really doesn't know how to dance. How could a middle aged man get so mad at the result that he'd shoot his tv? I'm sorry. Did you say moron? And wouldja think of Governor Palin's response that she'd buy him a new tv? Heh.

  But this morning there's a report that some new moron sent her a letter with white powder in it. Do these people not have lives? Do they not understand that the voting is NOT locked down for these contests and that's considered part of the fun of the show? Just like American Idol last year when the flamboyant was rejected for the serene? 

  There's been lots of moaning and complaining about her getting this far due to tea party support. Even WJR's Warren Pierce was outraged this morning when he mentioned Hillbuzz, who's been pumping up support for Bristol the whole season, but the whole tea party bias/prejudice works both ways. Those who vote for Bristol because they are tea party sympathizers have to compete with those who are hateful anti-tea party despisers.
